2021-01-11 19:27:24 UTC

I'd like to read them

2021-01-11 19:27:39 UTC

yes one moment

2021-01-11 19:46:22 UTC

First of all: I asked for a study *showing* the link, not for a YouTube video of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just *saying* that vaccines are dangerous

2021-01-11 19:46:41 UTC

However, because I'm a nice guy, I watched the video anyway - but there are still a few big problems with it

2021-01-11 19:50:43 UTC

My biggest issue here is the fact that RFK's only real "evidence" is the 1967 incident where two infants died and numerous others got sick when given an RSV vaccine. While this incident was absolutely horrifying, it's important to understand *why* exactly such a strongly negative reaction was exhibited in the first place. Professional studies that took place after the incident recognized that the deaths were due to the fact that the children had weaker antibodies (due to the fact that they were literal toddlers), causing the vaccine to not work as intended.

This is not an indictment of the concept of vaccines as a whole, it just means that the scientists conducting the study at the time hadn't realized how dangerous it was to perform such a test on young children; Science has come a long way since then, which illustrates a second problem with using that study: It was so long ago that it's honestly hardly relevant by this point. We know better now. **That's what science is all about: Learning from our past mistakes and determining how to do better**.

That's why it's so telling that the only citation he could provide was a freak accident from 54 years ago. It's not a common occurrence, especially not recently.

2021-01-11 19:54:07 UTC

The other huge problem I have with this video is the fact that neither of these people seem credible to begin with. Neither Robert F. Kennedy Jr. nor Del Bigtree have any education or experience in the health industry (and in fact both have been lambasted by actual health experts), so they're hardly authorities on the subject.

2021-01-11 19:55:17 UTC

Also, it's worth noting that I asked for a connection between vaccines and autism, but nothing in that video even mentioned autism at all..

Wow K.T.B., I didn't know any of that. Thank you sm for the information!
