I just don't see why it's such a problem for you to wear a mask if you're going out in public. Unless you have a pre-existing lung condition (i.e. asthma) which inhibits your breathing ability already and would only be exacerbated by a mask, then there's really no good reason not to.

There have actually been no scientific studies demonstrating that wearing a mask damages your respiratory system if you're an average individual, this is just some rhetoric that's been spread around by non-scientific people on the basis of assumption rather than fact. ...Unless you *do* have a link to a reputable source demonstrating the rationale behind this belief, in which case by all means, please link it.
Fair enough, honestly. If you're against the idea of the government creating regulations and laws about it, then that's not entirely an invalid position to have. It's not a position I personally agree with, but I can't blame you for it. However, you're still not really addressing my original point: That is, **regardless** of whether or not the government is "telling you what to do", why wouldn't you just wear a mask anyway out of respect for the people who are concerned that they may contract the virus and unwittingly spread it to someone who may be vulnerable?

It’s not “the deep state” warning people about the dangers of this disease, though. It’s also the entire medical community, and the entire scientific community. Additionally, the governments of every country in the world - I mean, come on, you know that this isn’t just a USA thing, right? Do you really think that the virus is all just some hoax made up by the media to rig the election? Because without any evidence, that’s utterly absurd.

Additionally, even if people aren't dying, the virus causes serious lung damage that can be permanent. I know several people who caught the virus, but are perfectly alive because they're young and healthy and whatnot. However, their lungs have sustained serious, possibly life-long damage as a result of it, all because they interacted with people (like you?) that were looking out for themselves before looking out for others.
