A lot of people who use Duolingo learn a language that is useless to them because "it looked cool" or something. I understand the idea of learning languages for fun, but, if you're going to spend that much time learning something, might as well learn something that you can use in real life.

Russian makes sense because it has the ability to be an international language among Eastern Europeans. Polish is only useful for talking to some esoteric ethnic group that isn't relevant on a global scale.
