Age of empires actually taught me a ton about history through video gaming lol

2018-12-06 23:48:24 UTC

Never tried settlers of Catan

2018-12-06 23:49:40 UTC

You should check it out, but ya need a couple/ few others to play

2018-12-06 23:49:53 UTC

Is it on steam?

2018-12-06 23:50:00 UTC

It's a board game

2018-12-06 23:50:05 UTC

Oh haha

2018-12-06 23:50:54 UTC

I'll download age of mythology when it goes on sale again just for the throwback

2018-12-06 23:51:14 UTC

Rise of Nations

2018-12-06 23:51:20 UTC

I remember my Dad telling me I couldn't play Civ until I learned to read 😂

2018-12-06 23:51:40 UTC

He got to obsessive about video games, had to quit them

2018-12-06 23:51:55 UTC

Particularly Civ

2018-12-06 23:53:20 UTC

Gaming unlocks certain experiences you would otherwise never have in the modern world. The book Generation Identity briefly but correctly points this out.

2018-12-06 23:53:34 UTC

It is not so surprising when folks get addicted

2018-12-06 23:54:26 UTC

If you guys start playing games make it one that isn't too demanding. We don't all have super elite gaming pcs here.

2018-12-06 23:54:37 UTC

And no gsg's plz

2018-12-06 23:54:54 UTC

Damn. So Ark is out of the question.

2018-12-06 23:56:01 UTC

@ChippedStones got me to download Sins of a Solar Empire when it was free on Humble Bundle, is from 2008 so it doesn't take much but I haven't played it yet

2018-12-06 23:56:17 UTC

woah

2018-12-06 23:56:51 UTC

Minecraft should be the game.

2018-12-06 23:57:38 UTC

Yeah it's fun and casual

2018-12-06 23:58:07 UTC

Just checked my profile. last time I played a steam game was on Aug 26 for 1.3 hours lol.

2018-12-06 23:58:10 UTC

And it's creative. And most importantly everyone can run it

2018-12-06 23:58:43 UTC

And it's cross platform I think @ExternalPepsi

2018-12-06 23:59:08 UTC

Last time I played a video game on Steam was over a month ago

2018-12-06 23:59:55 UTC

No idea how everyone my age seems to have these gaming computers

2018-12-07 00:00:30 UTC

I bought mine with a work bonus one year

2018-12-07 00:00:41 UTC

I have a Thinkpad that's like 5 years old and desktop that's about 11 years old

2018-12-07 00:01:09 UTC

I have a Helios 300 laptop, great bang for the buck. Was a compounded gift, skipped a Christmas and got it for my 18th birthday lol

2018-12-07 00:01:17 UTC

Great bang for the buck

2018-12-07 00:01:21 UTC

I would recommend buying parts for your PC and either learning or hiring someone to assemble it. You will save lots of money.

2018-12-07 00:01:48 UTC

@CarletonJ it's still a bit costly tho right?

2018-12-07 00:02:13 UTC

Yeah. You won't find a good PC under 700

2018-12-07 00:02:58 UTC

I mean, you can build one for cheaper. Just won't play games at high settings.

2018-12-07 00:02:59 UTC

I lost my mouse and I think my life is better for it. No vidya.

2018-12-07 00:03:09 UTC

Read books and shitpost on Twitter

2018-12-07 00:03:14 UTC

Haha this

2018-12-07 00:05:04 UTC

The thing about Minecraft is it doesn't really involve the teamwork aspect that a strategy game would have.

2018-12-07 00:05:35 UTC

I built a pc that still plays most games on high or ultra + renders video well for around $850 perhaps 3 or so years ago.

2018-12-07 00:05:53 UTC

I use it every day (not for vidya) one of the best investments I have ever made.
