Yes.. that has effects beyond the scope of the war, that are circulated back into the war

2020-10-20 03:56:47 UTC

Everything we're putting out into this world has some type of effect

2020-10-20 03:57:15 UTC

your assumption is if we sway the culture one way, itll ultimately sway back another

2020-10-20 03:57:35 UTC

that if we make governmental assertions, they will do the same

2020-10-20 03:57:52 UTC

and the only solution is to cut off everyones access to making governmental assertions

2020-10-20 03:59:01 UTC

Never understood that to be a libertarian pillar myself, but who knows what the kiddies are saying today? ?

2020-10-20 03:59:32 UTC

no im just asking if thats your contention

2020-10-20 04:00:14 UTC

Ah.. gotcha. .

2020-10-20 04:00:35 UTC

@equal and opposite reaction statement

2020-10-20 04:02:56 UTC

Yes. Look at the world. Big issues that don't require a political stance at all, and this phenomenon is being used to drive two opposing energies at each other.. while way slicker people run off with all the $$$

2020-10-20 04:04:23 UTC

Energy in a different form. . So yes, I believe it's a science, and to me, it's pretty clear it can be manipulated.

2020-10-20 04:05:56 UTC

I'm literally arguing that the big issues be solved via the culture

2020-10-20 04:06:07 UTC

rather than politics

2020-10-20 04:06:23 UTC

Me too 😆

2020-10-20 04:06:41 UTC

but where we disagree is that I think politics ought to represent the truth, that it ought to represent the people who culturally stand for the truth

2020-10-20 04:07:06 UTC

And the problem with your solution is that they arent holding back any punches

2020-10-20 04:07:14 UTC

theyre pushing hard, politically and culturally

2020-10-20 04:07:41 UTC

libertarianism is akin to sitting back and taking the punches like a good boy and then asking for permission to please believe what you want to believe

2020-10-20 04:08:20 UTC

OK.. so, in a nation of so many differing opinions, morals, etc.. how do you propose a government doing so??

2020-10-20 04:08:54 UTC

That is literally the best question you could've asked

2020-10-20 04:09:44 UTC

And that's the 'equal and opposite reaction' I referred to..

2020-10-20 04:12:05 UTC

We need to stop embracing diversity like it's some virtue to be praised above all else or protected. That is a virtue of liberalism which was the left wing foundation of the democrat party in the 90s which essentially became the modern republican party but fully realized in the libertarian party.

We need to reclaim our american heritage, that we all come from different backgrounds, but we are all united by a common culture, a distinctly american culture, and that can only be found in looking to our roots in christianity, in the founding fathers and documents, and to an extent in englightenment, but for every enlightenment value we emphasize like 2 christian values at least

2020-10-20 04:12:16 UTC

that isnt to say you need to be Christian

2020-10-20 04:12:28 UTC

but that there is SOMETHING that makes us all American.

2020-10-20 04:12:46 UTC

that america isnt just a country filled with individuals, but a nation with it's own people and identity

2020-10-20 04:13:46 UTC

I think this movement towards individualism and liberalism was a reaction to hitler and the nazi party and the horrific tragedies of the 20th century

2020-10-20 04:14:07 UTC

And doing our best to avoid ever repeating such tragedies is important

2020-10-20 04:14:19 UTC

but national identity, culture and pride isnt inherently wrong or evil

2020-10-20 04:14:41 UTC

and embracing peoples various haritages isnt mutually exclusive to national culture and pride

2020-10-20 04:17:17 UTC

All goes back to looking in the mirror. So many saying they have Jesus, yet nobody's at peace. Why? How can u ever build a strong society out of hollow individuals? You can't, and that's my point.

2020-10-20 04:17:52 UTC

And i agree with you to an extent

2020-10-20 04:18:00 UTC

but with a distinction as well

2020-10-20 04:18:26 UTC

I think promoting the person, and personal growth is much more valuable than the individual, and individual growth

2020-10-20 04:19:02 UTC

Call it what you like.. same thing to me

2020-10-20 04:19:07 UTC

It's not

2020-10-20 04:19:32 UTC

Person isn't an individual?

2020-10-20 04:20:06 UTC

to be a person means to be someone with connections, social ties, that we aren't just ourselves but people with responsibilities to others

an individual is a human being in isolation, not that they dont have family or friends or community, but it is a disordered emphasis

2020-10-20 04:20:19 UTC

bringing us back to christian american values

2020-10-20 04:20:39 UTC

the country is built on families and communities, communities being built of families

2020-10-20 04:20:53 UTC

the societal fabric is made up of families and the family structure

2020-10-20 04:21:33 UTC

Is there some good discussion going on here?
