a couple of my friends know that i am in IE... when we go to a restaurant and we get a mexican or black waiter/waitress, they always look at me and say: "Dude be nice to him/her!!!" hahaha

yeah sometimes just getting the conversation going about these issues is half the battle. at least you get people thinking about these issues and point out the double standard.

One thing that worked great for me was living in a diverse neighborhood and insisting on hosting family gatherings, purposefully making them uncomfortable
