Its a bit early to tell tbh. This seems to be a destructive force of people who hate Macron.

2018-12-12 08:57:46 UTC

To actually build something, idk.

2018-12-12 09:00:22 UTC

Globalists sure are shaking in their boots tho.

2018-12-12 09:26:11 UTC

Is it time for the UK to get MOGGed?

2018-12-12 09:26:23 UTC

Can't ZOG Rees-Mogg

2018-12-12 09:37:05 UTC

M O G G gang rise up

2018-12-12 10:09:22 UTC

What would happen if May were to resign? Would someone else from the Conservative party replace her?

2018-12-12 10:12:38 UTC

Dude the UK is boned

2018-12-12 10:13:47 UTC

There is no way the UK could do Brexit without A. Getting screwed economically or B. opening the door to other nations leaving the EU. Which would never happen.

2018-12-12 10:14:13 UTC

Plus Northern Ireland is enough of a problem to make Brexit difficult.

2018-12-12 10:14:58 UTC

Brexit is economically harmful as well.

2018-12-12 10:15:27 UTC

If the precedent is set that one can leave the EU and not get fucked economically, the whole bit is done for.

2018-12-12 10:19:43 UTC

I don’t really know what to make of the whole thing. I understand the feelings of the regular Britons who don’t like taking orders from Strasbourg, but yanking the country out of its economic integration with its neighbors is going to be pretty rough. I also don’t see a point in leaving the EU if you’re not going to actually address the reason who people voted to leave the EU- immigration. I’m completely unconvinced a non-EU UK would have a reasonable immigration policy, and I’m quite sure they’d just keep doing what they’re doing now, which is a disaster.

Europeans are often either A. Monarchists and agree with the American WNs on some things. or B. Cowards who are racial nihilists.

2018-12-12 10:21:38 UTC

Europe is odd.

2018-12-12 10:24:06 UTC

I was in the UK last month and it was truly staggering how much London had changed between when I was there as a child and now. I went to a few museums, and every time I came across a group of school children on a field trip, maybe three out of fifteen or so were British (or white of another stripe.)

2018-12-12 10:24:32 UTC

Ironically. And hopefully, this plan to create a Pan Euro identity AND THEN adding in Third World people may create a Pan European Identity. Which would be nice. Given the stark contrast between Somalis and Brits vs Brits and other Europeans.

2018-12-12 10:24:51 UTC

Just an update on south africa before I go to sleep

2018-12-12 10:25:44 UTC

London is terrible dude. @ophiuchus

2018-12-12 10:26:38 UTC

Went somewhere for dinner that said it was 5 stars on Yelp. Ended up being a strip club.

2018-12-12 10:26:49 UTC

Finished my beer and bailed.

2018-12-12 10:27:14 UTC

Try showing up as the clearly American White dude in a sport coat and not get nagged for money constantly.

It's a worthy consideration. I don't know if you've heard the "race didn't exist until the age of colonization" argument before, but what you're talking about is something kind of similar. The "race didn't exist before colonization" thing is *almost* true, it's just talking about the wrong thing. Genetic population clusters which we call races very much did exist before the age of colonization, but we didn't know about them. A 9th century French peasant might not have even known black people, for example, existed, so of course his conceptualization of his ethnic relation was different. It's only through comparison that differences arise, and when Europeans discovered the rest of the world and met its people, they were able to understand that, for example, the Spanish and the English were more similar to each other than either was to Bantus in Africa or Malays in Indonesia. As their frame of reference expanded, they were able to differentiate people on another level of (dis)similarity- on one plane, between Europeans, and on another, more basal plane, Europeans from other races, such as Africans. While historically this happened "externally," meaning that Europeans were able to perceive this level of racial dissimilarity because they traveled abroad to meet those of other races, the same thing could be happening today "internally." As people from the Europe start to interact *en masse* with people from other racial groups, they might begin to perceive the differences their ancestors did centuries ago and begin to distinguish not just German from Pole, but European from non-European.

2018-12-12 10:35:56 UTC

Yeah London's pretty terrible.

2018-12-12 10:41:59 UTC

There's still a lot of interesting historical stuff to see there, but I really detest the feeling. Going around what is ostensibly the thriving capital of a European country just to see the grandeur of its past exploits and appreciate what it once was while having to systematically avoid witnessing its self-inflicted wounds is depressing. Visiting London is like visiting the grave of an erstwhile celebrated hero whose success bred a life so good he succumbed to suicidal apathy.

2018-12-12 10:42:19 UTC

Good morning

2018-12-12 10:42:39 UTC

I'd almost recommend people go just to get a feel for that emotion- it really helps to crystalize our thoughts about all of this.

2018-12-12 10:42:46 UTC

@Isabella Locke-MT good morning!
