There's a formal way of ending things
My sister is cohabiting with her boyfriend
similar situation but instead of my parents footing the downpayerment, she did it herself
because her bf is a broke motherfucker
Oh, it's in her name. I "Rent" it from her at 0 percent markup and get a renter's credit on my taxes at the end of the year.
Don't bother me none.
Should be fine
Are you on the coasts or in the midwest/south etc?
I mean, you like her well enough to live with her.
I think I could afford a down payment in the middle of the US, definitely not where I live now
At the absolute worst, if she breaks up with me (and after 10 years of being in this relationship, I doubt it), I get 90 days to vacate by Minnesota law 👌 😂
Her parents put down 30k on our house
That's a big house out there
Uh, no, no it is not
It is a 2 bedroom 1 bath in downtown Minneapolis
Has she talked or hinted at marriage before? Ten years is a long time and it's not like it would change anything except some health insurance stuff.
was it just 10%, so 300,000?
No, it was 30k on a house that cost 160
fuck man
that's like less than a 20 year mortgage

Well how long did those cunts know each other?
Marriage lowers the income tax a bunch, but divorce laws sides heavily towards the female spouse
I know like 3-4 older guys living in mobile homes because their wife is entitled to the home
no idea. I've known my gf since the 7th grade, we're 27 now
We're the only bf/gf we've ever had <:hahayes:330459104495665153>
One fella onced lived in San Francisco; found the wrong girl had 2 kids, wife cheated on him with his best friend
You're melting my heart here.
Restraining order, police reports of domestic violence, took his kids, alimony, child support. He had to move out to the California desert
The desert is much different from SF
Was a 8 year marriage
More like a 2 year marriage, that shit doesn't happen overnight.
Kids were 6 or something
Marriage is more than a document, thinking along the lines of legal contract is why people are miserable today.
I've bought a house, car, adopted a dog, and will probably start trying for children within the next 1 or 2 years, fuck a piece of paper that says I'm commited to it under penalty of poverty
More power to you, though even in cohabitation the man can and does get fucked if things go belly up.
Though it sounds like you have the real shit, just without the government notary.
Without children, the only costs I would incur if the relationship failed would be buying out my half of the car note so I could keep it (she can't drive), and moving costs to my new place. Once we DO have kids, for all intents and purposes, I'm fucked if it goes bad
but I'm pretty sure it won't go bad, not after this long
guys
