I got traumatized by league of legends that way, too. I was having tons of fun and kicking ass as blitzcrank, then I got bumped into a higher skill bracket or something so I was just getting shit on for like, 20 games in a row, and people were so goddamned relentless about it that I couldn't stomach the game anymore

Even Dota 1 on wc3 was incredibly toxic

I thought League was at its best when it was most toxic around season 3
