@Kingfish was that supposed to be a dm?

2018-12-16 02:52:50 UTC

And probably.

2018-12-16 02:53:01 UTC

No

2018-12-16 02:53:07 UTC

I saw your pic in general

2018-12-16 02:53:11 UTC

So I asked in general

2018-12-16 02:54:06 UTC

Yeah, we will decide in late Jan, if we decide not to the funds will go to the travel expenses of a worthy activist in the north Atlantic.

Hello all, what's an enlightening movie to watch? In the realm of Sci fi or dystopian

2018-12-16 02:54:54 UTC

I’ll throw in money if we do a van

@Kaledin - SD Both the Blade Runner movies, Ghost in the Shell (1995), Children of Men, Dredd and Akira are good movies to start with.

2018-12-16 03:18:40 UTC

Ghost in the Shell was good, interesting twist

2018-12-16 03:19:01 UTC

@Kaledin - SD Ex Machina is superb.

If you want to see a movie that approaches things from our perspective, Children of Men is your best bet, it's a movie set in a dystopian near future Britain where fertility and birthrates collapse and Britain is dealing with mass third world immigration, terrorism and a highly authoritarian government.

2018-12-16 03:33:15 UTC

Uh not sure CoM is really from our perspective

2018-12-16 03:33:26 UTC

It's literally premised on a black woman saving the human race

2018-12-16 03:35:47 UTC

Not 100%, but it does deal with many of the issues that we're concerned about, albeit from a slightly more ambiguous perspective

2018-12-16 03:37:30 UTC

I've seen CoM before and I was surprised that it included those elements. Foreshadowing

2018-12-16 03:38:35 UTC

Yeah, it's a movie that gets better and more relevant with age

2018-12-16 03:45:36 UTC

Honestly belko experiment was pretty good w some points. Not in the affirmative. The movie is super SJW anti white trash like anything else but if you see you might get what I mean.

2018-12-16 04:06:23 UTC

"Dune" (1984 or 2000) is the most woke my dudes

2018-12-16 04:07:33 UTC

Good realistic dystopia is "How I Live Now"

2018-12-16 04:07:40 UTC

@FlyingDutchmann that's great news!

2018-12-16 04:15:04 UTC

@PatrickAZ I did enjoy that movie, but it's pretty predictable that the SJW guy will win it, not one of the masculine men.

2018-12-16 04:16:05 UTC

@Sonic oh of course. They just picked the faggiest little soy boy to protect all the people's from muh guns.

I tried watching Dune (1984) a month ago and could not get into it.

2018-12-16 04:40:07 UTC

@Rick I loved the pc game.

2018-12-16 04:49:25 UTC

Dune 1984 was a pretty terrible movie

2018-12-16 04:52:02 UTC

Three black men stole a car with a 13 month old child in it, in the small rural town (2,000 population) my wife teaches at

2018-12-16 04:53:22 UTC

I hope Julian Von Abele keeps it together. He seems like he has had a good future lined up in Physics research, we don't really need another rightwing e-celeb

2018-12-16 04:54:09 UTC

The first two Dune books are amazing.

2018-12-16 04:54:23 UTC

I just re-read them this year.

“Constitutions become the ultimate tyranny," Paul said. "They’re organized power on such a scale as to be overwhelming. The constitution is social power mobilized and it has no conscience. It can crush the highest and the lowest, removing all dignity and individuality. It has an unstable balance point and no limitations.”
- Frank Herbert
