One of the most important factors in choosing where to live is a good gene pool for your kids to marry into. I'd say this is more important than even a job if you have kids heading into puberty.

Americans don't take their kids social lives seriously and leave the whole matter of offspring to chance. You shouldn't micromanage but you can set the stage by choosing your social circle and location.

The best way to fight it is teach your kids basic self esteem and standards

For real, I am often having a reasonable conversation with a normal conservative and they are agreeing with me a lot until Israel or anyone who is Jewish comes up and something seems to switch in their brains instantly, and I don’t mean anything edgy about history

Speaking of which use that to train your kids. Instead of dictating who they can date. Notice and praise qualities in young people while your kid is pre pubescent. They will notice those same qualities instinctively when they come of age.
