@wayne peek so they did get jail time?

2018-12-27 22:01:55 UTC

nice

2018-12-27 22:02:36 UTC

@Goose I wouldnt get any at all, its a waste of money. I only want catastrophic coverage and that doesnt seem to be a thing anymore.

2018-12-27 22:03:23 UTC

Yeah the boys got 8 years. One girl got off with 200 hours of community service and 4 years probation lol. So hardly justice for kidnapping and torturing a challenged white boy.

2018-12-27 22:04:33 UTC

@TylerHess i've said the same thing but i'm constantly met with "if you get hurt in an accident, we'll have to sell the house"

2018-12-27 22:05:32 UTC

@Goose is that blue cross blue shield?

2018-12-27 22:05:40 UTC

yup

2018-12-27 22:06:11 UTC

Unfortunately my understanding is that Blue Cross Blue Shield is the best insurance a non-CEO/politician can get

2018-12-27 22:06:14 UTC

$400 a month for a single, healthy, young male

2018-12-27 22:06:36 UTC

but i'm sure it's difficult to afford because i'm a lazy millenial <:really:453005408064241674>

2018-12-27 22:07:41 UTC

@Goose are you employed? Is that what you pay on top of what your employer pays? that amount is def a lot

2018-12-27 22:08:50 UTC

i get a 1099 <:sad:366743316475281408>

2018-12-27 22:09:35 UTC

@Goose ouch, that means you're up a creek without a paddle. If it makes you feel better, I have slightly worse insurance that together my employer and I pay about 500 for.

2018-12-27 22:10:00 UTC

Damn dude thats like a car payment.

2018-12-27 22:10:06 UTC

Would you object to something like medishare?

2018-12-27 22:10:19 UTC

But if you get a 1099, then you can probably choose a cheaper insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield is high roller insurance

2018-12-27 22:10:20 UTC

@Ecarttev i'm not sure what that is

2018-12-27 22:10:46 UTC

@Sam Anderson True, but I have no car

2018-12-27 22:11:05 UTC

@ThisIsChris what can i say, i've got expensive taste 😎 lol

2018-12-27 22:11:21 UTC

luckily my truck is paid off

2018-12-27 22:11:33 UTC

I am in favor of a system that is National heathcare for treatments that are common and proliferated and a full Capitalist system for emerging or experimental products. Eventually the gov takes over something when it is common enough. Best of both worlds Capitalism and Socialism.

2018-12-27 22:11:33 UTC

but this health insurance is draining me

2018-12-27 22:11:50 UTC

@Goose I am of the mind to spare no expense for your health. But wouldn't hurt to look over the past year and see how much insurance you really needed that you may be able to get away with.

2018-12-27 22:12:24 UTC

i honestly don't need any.
but i have to deal with my parents fear-mongering about losing the house if i end up in a serious accident

2018-12-27 22:12:26 UTC

if it's just a few checkups then you can get a high deductible emergency insurance and then just pay your checkups out of pocket

2018-12-27 22:12:56 UTC

i didn't know if y'all had any suggested companies while i'm shopping around

2018-12-27 22:13:14 UTC

the companies vary by region

2018-12-27 22:13:27 UTC

right

2018-12-27 22:13:42 UTC

well, it'll be interesting after the 1st when hospitals have to start listing their prices

2018-12-27 22:13:56 UTC

huh I didn't know that, that sounds cool

2018-12-27 22:14:06 UTC

It's admittedly religious, but you share medical costs with the other members. https://mychristiancare.org/medi-share/what-is-medishare/share-calculator/

2018-12-27 22:14:35 UTC

I am V.Balboa and I am going to post in this General channel

2018-12-27 22:15:44 UTC

@Ecarttev thanks.
not a problem when i'm already paying for invaders' health insurance

2018-12-27 22:17:23 UTC

i'm about to drop bluecross blueshield for that image alone

2018-12-27 22:21:32 UTC

@Goose another thing to consider, not just for insurance: https://www.freelancersunion.org/

2018-12-27 22:22:01 UTC

@Sam Anderson That's true. Minneapolis and Saint Paul feel like foreign countries to me. University Avenue in Saint Paul has almost no small business signs in English, save for pawn shops. It makes me sad, because I spent a considerable time of my youth in that area.

2018-12-27 22:22:23 UTC

BC/BS is good insurance, but it is expensive.
