@Wood-Ape - OK/MN a year of preps prevents a fast economic jolts.

2019-01-01 23:02:27 UTC

@Valaska I don't need that much power.

2019-01-01 23:09:56 UTC

Anyone know why there still isn’t a new TDS podcast

2019-01-01 23:21:46 UTC

Because Whignats are #canceled in 2019

"In this video, Dave Rubin and I focus on four issues:

(1) our departure from Patreon (as of Jan 15, 2019);
**(2) plans to create an alternative creator-funding platform, with multiple payment options, and with protection for free speech foremost and center as a guiding principle;**
(3) the exceptional danger posed by the increasing willingness of payment processors such as MasterCard, Visa and PayPal to monitor, judge and regulate the spending habits of their customers;
(4) the pressure being applied to such companies by organizations designed precisely for that purpose (such as “Change the Terms (https://www.changetheterms.org/), aimed at the elimination of what they regard as “hate speech” online and everywhere else). "

2019-01-01 23:29:00 UTC

2019 could be the year free speech fights back.

I wish them the best, but the pessimist in me doubts that we'll see a fix that doesn't involve legislation.

2019-01-01 23:34:51 UTC

Indeed, but this could keep the 1st Amendment in the conversation long enough for the right people to hear.

2019-01-01 23:35:22 UTC

win win

2019-01-01 23:35:55 UTC

Re: Patrick's new year's suggestions ... I am getting married in a few months 😃 the closer the date gets, the more I realize I'm kind of intimidated about whether I can do a good job at it... Wondered if any married people have advice.

2019-01-02 00:07:03 UTC

After seeing the tweets about NYE TV shows last night and the disgusting stuff they did, I'm really glad I no longer watch any television nor allow my kids to do so. Absolutely gross conversations and totally inappropriate.

2019-01-02 00:08:44 UTC

@apronandlace It's like a title, if you already treat him right, and he treats you right before getting married, then you guys should be fine*

2019-01-02 00:08:52 UTC

I'm a girl

2019-01-02 00:09:30 UTC

thanks for the reassurance!

2019-01-02 00:09:30 UTC

good recovery @The Eternal Anglo 😂

2019-01-02 00:10:22 UTC

@apronandlace Marriage is a life long learning experience. Look at the relationship as iron sharpens iron. Make one another better and challenge each other to greatness. You’ll be fine 😃

2019-01-02 00:12:43 UTC

@apronandlace we do have a #relationships channel in the skills server

2019-01-02 00:12:59 UTC

@ThisIsChris thanks!

2019-01-02 00:13:02 UTC

@apronandlace My mistake, congratulations by the way!

I personally recommend premarital counseling regardless, as it always is good to already know helpful preventives and things to do before they happen. How to deal with certain situations, etc.

2019-01-02 00:14:26 UTC

Over all though it is fantastic, and you two should be grand @apronandlace 💪 👍

2019-01-02 00:15:19 UTC

Yes for Catholics at least it's required to do a premarital prep course before they'll marry you

2019-01-02 00:16:24 UTC

Is there a financial planning/tax advice section in the skills server? I’m working on my wife and I’s budget for 2019 and work as a CPA, would be happy to offer some tax planning help, can probably save some folks some money in taxes

2019-01-02 00:16:33 UTC

The one I took was surprisingly long, once a week for about 4 months plus a fieldtrip

2019-01-02 00:16:41 UTC

@Rick Flair yes there is

2019-01-02 00:16:45 UTC

tax planning would be awesome

2019-01-02 00:17:23 UTC

check #noncrypto-finance

2019-01-02 00:17:47 UTC

4-6 mos is typical

2019-01-02 00:17:51 UTC
2019-01-02 00:18:09 UTC

@Rick Flair do you take clients from out of state?

2019-01-02 00:19:25 UTC

I don’t make a living in financial planning, I work in oil and gas, but I do have a bit of knowledge based on my background and my own planning, would be happy to give out some basic things I do for minimizing taxes and cashflow management

2019-01-02 00:20:36 UTC

@Papa Pizzagate I'm glad to hear that. Yeah 4 months is what I remember from a few years ago, could be longer. Basically like a college semester.

2019-01-02 00:21:44 UTC

Thanks Chris, I don’t see that server on my list, do I need to reach out to anyone specifically?

2019-01-02 00:22:05 UTC

@Rick Flair me, I'll DM you
