I'm gonna switch to Linux once they manage to fix BattleEye

2018-05-03 18:58:37 UTC

And if Adobe software will perform great

2018-05-03 19:00:48 UTC

Gaymen, MS Office and Adobe is what keeps Windows alive in the first place

2018-05-03 19:00:58 UTC

if those weren't, the majority would not use Windows

2018-05-03 19:01:53 UTC

Visual Studio IDE is also neato

2018-05-03 19:02:01 UTC

For C#?

2018-05-03 19:02:13 UTC

From my experience with C#

2018-05-03 19:02:22 UTC

I like Rider more for C#

2018-05-03 19:02:33 UTC

Visual Studio used to be ahead of it's time a lot

2018-05-03 19:02:34 UTC

Can you do shit like
for (tab)(tab)

2018-05-03 19:02:36 UTC

But not anymore

2018-05-03 19:02:42 UTC

And have a for loop template already made?

2018-05-03 19:03:05 UTC

You can create as many custom templaates as you want on all jetbrains IDEs incl. Rider, and bind them to whatever you like

2018-05-03 19:03:06 UTC

Where you just type say for(tab)(tab)255 and you'd have for (int i = 5; i < 5; i++)

2018-05-03 19:04:11 UTC

At my previous employer, I made a lot of JetBrains extensions for IntelliJ / Java prefilled files with templates according to the name

2018-05-03 19:04:21 UTC

@sum okay, I just checked because I thought something didn't click

2018-05-03 19:04:36 UTC

You CAN switch outputs with this thing too

2018-05-03 19:04:44 UTC

Because left port is in/out

2018-05-03 19:05:00 UTC

Like, if I had a "WhateverFactory", it automatically made a "create" method in the class that returns a "Whatever" object etc

2018-05-03 19:05:13 UTC

You can automate Jetbrains a lot

2018-05-03 19:05:31 UTC

So plug PC onto left one, speaker and headphones into middle and right port reflectively

2018-05-03 19:07:39 UTC

If you can have IntelliSense experience anywhere else I'm up for it

2018-05-03 19:13:48 UTC

ReSharper extends Visual Studio's native code completion (IntelliSense) with more advanced capabilities. For example, it narrows down the list of suggestions based on your typing, understands lowerCamelHumps abbreviations, suggests variable and field names depending on their type names and your naming style, automatically imports selected types and extension methods, and more.

2018-05-03 19:13:59 UTC

And it runs on GNU/Linux

2018-05-03 19:14:08 UTC

So that's one software down

2018-05-03 19:14:11 UTC

Now Adobe and Gayming

2018-05-03 19:14:31 UTC

In theory Wine but I didn't had much success with it

2018-05-03 19:15:20 UTC

Seriously if Adobe and Gaymen is essential for you, you will never be happy on Linux

2018-05-03 19:15:40 UTC

Excel is like magic, damn.

2018-05-03 19:15:45 UTC

Not essential

2018-05-03 19:15:54 UTC

I don't remember last time I used Adobe Premiere/Photoshop

2018-05-03 19:15:57 UTC

But gaymes are for now

2018-05-03 19:15:58 UTC

I am not trying to sell you Linux, I was just saying there are better IDEs than Visual Studio

2018-05-03 19:16:05 UTC

I get it

2018-05-03 19:16:26 UTC

What games do you play?

2018-05-03 19:16:49 UTC

But wait, Resharper is an addon no? If so how does it change it?

2018-05-03 19:16:54 UTC

I usually play some 2010-2015 games and they all run fine on Wine but I seriously had to invest some tweaking time for each game

2018-05-03 19:17:05 UTC

PUBG/Arma 3/Rocket League

2018-05-03 19:17:11 UTC

And Warframe

2018-05-03 19:17:12 UTC

AFAIK it's also included in https://www.jetbrains.com/rider/
