Is this in response to people wanting to act after the IE Twitter got removed? I've seen some posts of people saying we need to do more now

2019-01-24 23:22:52 UTC

Is Nazbol extremist

2019-01-24 23:22:57 UTC

Would be better to clarify

2019-01-24 23:22:58 UTC

I thought about putting examples in, but the optics of even writing such things in the rules would be pretty awful. If you're not a sperg you have nothing to fear.

2019-01-24 23:23:29 UTC

Aw shit, I’m a sperg. Looks like I’m gonna get purged.

2019-01-24 23:23:33 UTC

Nothing in enforcement is changing. Only the wording of the rule to better align with what we already enforce.

Listening to Fash the Nation while reading this... <:nervous:359009898115104770>

Obviously we're not going to ban people for wanting to do IE activism. If you think our definition of extremism is the same as the media's, stand up, go to the sink, and splash some cold water in your face.

2019-01-24 23:24:41 UTC

At least Server Admin has a sense of humor. Real person confirmed.

2019-01-24 23:24:56 UTC

We’re not ruled by a malevolent, self-aware AI?

2019-01-24 23:25:13 UTC

Extremism is basically rhetoric that doesn't rise to rule 1 tier but is still bad and not in accordance with the values we clearly and obviously promote publicly. We can't have people seeing our public persona, joining, and then seeing a totally different face behind closed doors.

2019-01-24 23:25:16 UTC

Worst case, it does a good job covering it up.

2019-01-24 23:25:35 UTC

Taking over the world for the glory of the robots one pro-white group at a time.

2019-01-24 23:26:20 UTC

AI already has citizenship in Saudi Arabia...he has somewhere to go if we find him out.

2019-01-24 23:26:28 UTC

As the guidebook says, we must be radical, but not extremists. There is a difference.

2019-01-24 23:26:30 UTC

It's like all the "this is the end of his campaign" moments during 2016. People will read this, get scared, freak out for a minute, and then realize everything is fine and go back to being amazing Identitarian activists.

2019-01-24 23:27:07 UTC

"hair on fire" moments are awesome though!

2019-01-24 23:27:12 UTC

That's pretty much it

2019-01-24 23:30:13 UTC

Eh, beware our organization isn’t neutered by optics.

2019-01-24 23:30:27 UTC

Not that I think it has been, but the strength of our movement is in freedom of expression.

2019-01-24 23:30:47 UTC

@Ryonne It's not optics. It's who we actually are

2019-01-24 23:31:19 UTC

Extremism? Not even well defined. Identitarianism is extremism to most.

2019-01-24 23:31:24 UTC

We all know the banned memes guys..

2019-01-24 23:31:25 UTC

By extreme I'm talking about actual racial hatred, violent political regimes, genocide etc.

2019-01-24 23:31:54 UTC

Wasn't that already the rule?

2019-01-24 23:32:01 UTC

"Love of your people =/= hatred of others."
It's pretty simple.

2019-01-24 23:32:23 UTC

@Josh M. -OH Again, if you really believe we are going to ban people for being Identitarian, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not going to write examples of extremism in the rules because I don't even want those things permanently associated with us in that way.

2019-01-24 23:33:46 UTC

If you want to see what not to talk about look at Anglin’s Gab for 5 mins and thatl give you a good idea. Made a Gab yesterday and its preeeety gay.

2019-01-24 23:33:56 UTC

Yeah, pretty much that.

2019-01-24 23:33:56 UTC

Why do Slavs always show up in receiving in groups?

2019-01-24 23:34:00 UTC

Of course people will ask for clarification out of concern when things that sound lefty speak become rules here.

2019-01-24 23:34:06 UTC

There's always like 5 at a time

2019-01-24 23:42:37 UTC

The point of this rule is to bring the rules into consistency with how we already moderate. Little to nothing changes in actuality. The rule is there to remind people of who we are as an organization, and bring consistency to our already-employed moderation practices.

2019-01-24 23:45:05 UTC

Ya know IE on Gab gets more likes for putting up stickers than Anglin does for an angry effortpost almost everytime. He averages 30-40 and we can get anywhere from 30-60.

2019-01-24 23:45:12 UTC

I worry that different mods/leaders may have different opinions...

2019-01-24 23:45:29 UTC

"Don't be an edgelord".- Patrick Casey, probably.

2019-01-24 23:46:43 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MNthats what happens when things are subjective.

2019-01-24 23:46:49 UTC

@Wood-Ape - OK/MN The mods all answer to me. If you feel you're unfairly moderated, appeal to me. If you feel I'm unfair, appeal to Matt.

2019-01-24 23:47:52 UTC

Yes, the rules have a certain degree of subjectivity because I'm definitely not going to write an entire body of law detailing every little thing people can and cannot do. People know what IE stands for and what's expected of them. The rules are guidelines. That should be enough for people to behave themselves 95% of the time.

2019-01-24 23:48:28 UTC

And it is.
