2016-06-08 18:36:34 UTC

or core duo

2016-06-08 18:36:48 UTC

Right, refurbished and used business laptops are great value

2016-06-08 18:36:51 UTC

works ok, I only use laptops for browsing in bed, do my video and other stuff on main desktop

2016-06-08 18:37:34 UTC

couldn't afford a new thinkpad and wouldn't want one, £1000+ for a weird chunky macbook clone/thinkpad hybrid

2016-06-08 18:37:44 UTC

they lost their way with the chiclet keyboards

2016-06-08 18:38:08 UTC

at that point macbook is def better

2016-06-08 18:38:13 UTC

ye

2016-06-08 18:38:36 UTC

esp since hipsters use linux on them enough to make them work pretty well with linux

2016-06-08 18:38:44 UTC

and then if u like windows bootcamp is op

2016-06-08 18:39:26 UTC

>amd stepping up the drivers this much lately

2016-06-08 18:39:32 UTC

I was going to go nvidia

2016-06-08 18:39:43 UTC

but amd and their pajeets have stepped up

2016-06-08 18:40:12 UTC

>the gpu runs so hot pajeet can't even hold onto it when showing it to linus

2016-06-08 18:40:37 UTC

that gpu is super tough; you can throw it across the room, it will still work

2016-06-08 18:41:01 UTC

during the 970 3.5gb scandal AMD did that stupid "IT HAS 4GB FOR REAL" campaign and for some reason I managed to get a new r9 290 tri-x from a fireworks shop

2016-06-08 18:41:13 UTC

(because it's so hot it'll explode into fireworks lmao) for £200

2016-06-08 18:41:21 UTC

the nearest 970 was £270

2016-06-08 18:41:28 UTC

thanks amd

2016-06-08 18:41:47 UTC

I got my R9 290X for £158 lmao

2016-06-08 18:41:53 UTC

lol i bought a 960 for $250 canadabux before out dollar went to shit

2016-06-08 18:41:57 UTC

i got bamboozled

2016-06-08 18:42:01 UTC

where'd you get it for £158?

2016-06-08 18:42:53 UTC

A longer story, but a friend bought it, turned out to be defective.
She didn't want to deal with RMA, so I suggested I'd buy it for that price, because I thought I could fix it.
It turned out that I could fix it. I should just flash a BIOS from another card.

2016-06-08 18:43:12 UTC

did you notice a big change with crimson?

2016-06-08 18:43:26 UTC

I had buyers regret until they started using those drivers

2016-06-08 18:43:31 UTC

fixed a ton of issues for me

2016-06-08 18:43:32 UTC

Not really, no.
Nicer interface, but nothing big in terms of performance.

2016-06-08 18:43:48 UTC

weird, witcher 3 jumped from shitty fps to buttery smooth for me

2016-06-08 18:44:06 UTC

I haven't tried Witcher 3 tbh

2016-06-08 18:44:11 UTC

I know I should

2016-06-08 18:44:23 UTC

I'm not a fan of that type of game tbh

2016-06-08 18:44:38 UTC

or anything medieval for that matter

2016-06-08 18:44:46 UTC

like i hated got and skyrim

2016-06-08 18:45:29 UTC

I know people say Witcher 3 is just "follow the red footsteps then fight a thing" missions but I really loved the writing and performances

2016-06-08 18:45:38 UTC

plus I was stranded with no internet for a few weeks in Ireland

2016-06-08 18:45:40 UTC

so I read all the books

2016-06-08 18:45:48 UTC

made it punch in the gut emotional for me at least

2016-06-08 18:46:23 UTC

I should get my shit together and just play it

2016-06-08 18:46:35 UTC

it doesn't "get good" until red baron

2016-06-08 18:46:41 UTC

after that it stays consistent
