Even though I understand Megan Neely's desire, I have to ask: What exactly did she expect to happen? As a professor at Duke I assume she is at least somewhat well-read, she *had* to have known she would get backlash for this, right? I almost have to blame her for her unforced error.

I guess what I'm asking is, seriously, is there a hypothetical universe in which Megan Neely wouldn't have been pressured to step down after sending this e-mail?
