Even though I understand Megan Neely's desire, I have to ask: What exactly did she expect to happen? As a professor at Duke I assume she is at least somewhat well-read, she *had* to have known she would get backlash for this, right? I almost have to blame her for her unforced error.

I guess what I'm asking is, seriously, is there a hypothetical universe in which Megan Neely wouldn't have been pressured to step down after sending this e-mail? The only motivation I can imagine her having now is that she wanted to step down as Director of Graduate Studies with a little bit of flair.

So I don’t know if any of you are engaged or married. I, for one, am engaged to the love of my life, and in recent events I’ve been trying to teach her more about identity, our movement, how essential it is. As well I’m attempting to move in the direction of living traditionally, raising a family traditionally. I’ve been trying to motivate her in the way of seeing the good in a traditional family, speak to her about it, and I’ve come upon a few things I’d like to ask for help on. First being that she sometimes believes I just want her to be like these other women. This isn’t the case. Additionally I have blundered in my attempts to find reading materials on the traditional family, or woman. I’m trying to prevent us from falling into this progressivist pit of delusions. Do any of you have any videos, lectures, books, or even tips? It’s important to me to introduce this into our lives.

@The Lion I'd say it's pretty critical that you have these important discussions before you get married, dude. So many marriages have been torn apart by couples not talking about important issues before marriage such as political worldview, faith, career goals, common morals, 3,5,10,20 year plans together.
No need to be too ideological about it. I don't see a need for one's spouse to be an identitarian or a racialist or whatever - I imagine you'd be fine as long as there is an understanding that:
1. these are the things you believe, it's a morally good position and one that's important to you.
2. you intend to raise your children to be unashamed of their heritage.
