I mean premium earphones and headphones are still far better than chink shit

2016-08-01 10:17:25 UTC

but you're looking at spending up to a few hundred just to outdo what a couple of chinks do in their small ass factory

2016-08-01 10:17:33 UTC

that they're selling for $10-20

2016-08-01 10:20:23 UTC

Hey friends

2016-08-01 10:20:34 UTC

I just hope that the chinks will step up their camera game in their budget phones.
I'd love to own a Xiaomi phone, if the cameras weren't meh

2016-08-01 10:20:36 UTC

also, Hi

2016-08-01 10:20:58 UTC

Anyone else here use an Oppo phone? I got an R7s a few weeks ago and its pretty good

2016-08-01 10:21:18 UTC

Not anyone that I've heard of

2016-08-01 10:21:30 UTC

>budget phones

2016-08-01 10:21:31 UTC

>camera

2016-08-01 10:21:33 UTC

top kek

2016-08-01 10:21:41 UTC

you gotta step up if you want good cameras

2016-08-01 10:21:52 UTC

then you'll have to worry about their shity camera calibrations

2016-08-01 10:22:02 UTC

that plague even the high end models

2016-08-01 10:22:16 UTC

(speaking as someone who bought a top end chink phone with a good camera)

2016-08-01 10:22:30 UTC

It's not unthinkable that in 3 years, the cameras will actually be good.
I mean, they're doing everything else brilliantly, surely they can figure something out, given enough time.

2016-08-01 10:22:42 UTC

they order their parts from sony

2016-08-01 10:22:51 UTC

sony makes the best camera for mobiles

2016-08-01 10:22:57 UTC

and that's what all the top camera phones use

2016-08-01 10:23:08 UTC

just get a cheappo phone and get a DSLR

2016-08-01 10:23:09 UTC

is my advice

2016-08-01 10:23:27 UTC

the chinks have no clue on how to handle cameras, look at the lack of chink digital cameras and video cameras

2016-08-01 10:24:00 UTC

But I don't want to carry around a DSLR. The greatest thing about my current phone is the camera.

2016-08-01 10:25:34 UTC

Well, maybe when the chinkphone cameras get good *enough* I may consider getting a chink phone and a DSLR.

2016-08-01 10:25:48 UTC

redmi 3 is great though

2016-08-01 10:26:07 UTC

basic and does everything right

2016-08-01 10:27:19 UTC

Yeah, it's great.
But it's not relevant for me right now anyway.
By the time I'll need a new phone, they'll have released several more impressive phones, which I'll probably buy.

2016-08-01 10:28:52 UTC

phones are at a diminishing return return

2016-08-01 10:28:59 UTC

they really cant release anymore new features

2016-08-01 10:29:04 UTC

other than battery life

2016-08-01 10:29:31 UTC

and camera.

2016-08-01 10:29:53 UTC

cameras are at a level where they cant improve any longer without advances in lens technology

2016-08-01 10:30:03 UTC

or making the lens bigger sacrificing the size of the phone

2016-08-01 10:30:32 UTC

Of course, but the chinks can work on putting better cameras in their phones, while keeping the price low.

2016-08-01 10:33:08 UTC

requires more resources

2016-08-01 10:33:17 UTC

chinks just need to steal the blueprints

2016-08-01 10:35:14 UTC

@tablecat >I don't want to carry around a DSLR
Don't, carry around anything from a used some years old high end compact to a MILC and you'll pretty much have DSLR quality that's somewhat pocketable

2016-08-01 10:39:57 UTC

(pro) Cameras are at a level now that is incredible yet slightly flawed. Resolution is like Anon123 said absurdly high, so high that it's more than all but the sharpest high quality (and priced) lenses can't handle it. Some niche cameras are literally near military nightvision tier in light gathering - though never combined with high resolution. In-body that works really well stabilisation is also somewhat newly developed yet fucking amazing. Question is how miniaturising this will go. As far as I'm concerned phone cameras have all the resolution they deserve, and the view should be shifted towards larger photon receptors or whatever it's called so that the low light performance is dramatically improved.

2016-08-01 10:40:36 UTC

But sensor technology and high end lens manufacturing is far too complex for chinks, even if the could get ahold of the blueprints.

2016-08-01 10:41:10 UTC

Hell my phone pics take forever to upload already. I dont need 20mp images

2016-08-01 10:41:54 UTC

Downscale them and they'll look sharper
Most phones now have higher resolution than their lens can actually provide. Hence why it looks a bit blurry at 100%
