Having both and switching between as needed is really the best way to do it

2019-09-13 17:40:01 UTC

seeing as I wouldn't have the room for a desktop one

2019-09-13 17:40:38 UTC

Yeah I got a arm for my desk mic, but it was still kind of a pain

2019-09-13 17:41:12 UTC

for now I'm just enjoying pissing off my neighbours by blasting weebshit out of the speakers

2019-09-13 17:41:20 UTC

Hell yeah

2019-09-13 17:41:42 UTC

it can get a lot louder

2019-09-13 17:42:04 UTC

I'm just using the stock cord on my new headphones, til I can redo the setup

2019-09-13 17:42:33 UTC

I'm tempted to get a braided cable for my Oneaudios

2019-09-13 17:42:38 UTC

And man they sound so fucking clear and crisp

2019-09-13 17:42:52 UTC

purely because I hate rubbery cables

2019-09-13 17:43:25 UTC

Like this

2019-09-13 17:44:24 UTC

But they are harder to drive, so my current amp I would have my old ones at 40%, and my new cans I have to bump it up to about 70% to get the same volume

2019-09-13 17:44:50 UTC

Yeah, a desktop amp like that, but mine is a smsl m3

2019-09-13 17:45:29 UTC

with this sound card I can drive out a decent amount of sound

2019-09-13 17:46:10 UTC

if they're hard to drive, you can switch it to high (next to the volume knob)

2019-09-13 17:46:27 UTC

which amplifies all the volume

2019-09-13 17:46:55 UTC

I can also switch out the amplifier chips on the board if I want

2019-09-13 17:46:59 UTC

so that's a plus

2019-09-13 17:47:47 UTC

I'm starting to fill up my cpu pcie lanes though

2019-09-13 17:48:09 UTC

GPU + sound card + wireless card

2019-09-13 17:53:40 UTC

2019-09-13 17:54:09 UTC

This is mine, I get the PC audio through usb

2019-09-13 17:54:59 UTC

I'm thinking about picking up a beefier one though

2019-09-13 17:56:37 UTC

I use the soundblaster AE 9

2019-09-13 17:56:58 UTC

so it's a pcie sound card with an external controller

2019-09-13 17:57:32 UTC

they're connected via an hdmi looking cable

2019-09-13 17:57:44 UTC

might be mini hdmi

2019-09-13 17:57:55 UTC

same as your "in 1"

2019-09-13 17:58:34 UTC

This is all the card io

2019-09-13 17:58:53 UTC

optical in/out, jack in/out, speaker l/r and the external controller link

2019-09-13 18:00:12 UTC

the external controller also has a jack in thing with a cable that splits into regular speaker left/right

2019-09-13 18:36:11 UTC

🤢

2019-09-13 19:24:49 UTC

Do you notice a lag when you use the amp

2019-09-13 19:27:06 UTC

is ram latency such a big deal or is it just gaymer autism

2019-09-13 19:38:38 UTC

I've never noticed any lag, @basker
