oh
my brain flipped the cables
Shit
Type A is the one used on PC's, B for mobile devices, and C is "All in one" new one right
Type A is misc devices type B is heavy duty stuff and C is all in one
oh type b was printers and shit
I still have an RN4X, does the type C Port get loose on new devices like micro eventually did
Thunderbolt 3—upon which USB4 is based—supports PCIe 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 signaling, making it capable of driving 4K monitors at 60Hz, as well as external desktop-class GPUs that can be used to bolster the graphical capabilities of notebook PCs and small form factor devices like the Mac Mini. USB4 will also inherit the ability to deliver up to 100W of power.
pretty cool
in the future you could just buy an EGPU and plug it into a laptop using USB4
currently EGPUs work but they need more bandwith
External GPU's is actually pretty cool, I'd rather dock a laptop then use one of those hilarious desktop part laptops
oh definitely
External GPUs will be far more common when we get USB4 around standardized
so it's not too expensive for manufacturers to implement it
Now speaking of naming fuck GPU's who decided laptop GPU's have the exact same names as desktop GPU's and there's secretly 2/3 different product lines with the same name like the RTX 2069 something Max Q, Super, TI, and Max P
at least here you can get return/money back if product is not as advertised .. dropping that Max Q from advert is quite big nono
as its 30% performance hit :D
USB 1 and 2 were easy
Then other shit got added and everyone lost track, even the bastards that came up with the names lost track
But not every type C is created equal
And some will be usb3 and others wont
Fuck that
the scare of frying devices when power delivery was new
reeeeeeee
USB 1 and 2 were not easy
they didn't become retarded overnight
USB 1 was renamed to low speed when 1.1 came out, which was full speed
then usb 2 came and they called that high speed
USB 3 at least had the blue color suggestion, I remember USB 1 & 2 having no discernable difference
then they started making ports red for high power
and now we have red 10gbit ports too
that looks sick
Too bad it's fagshit for faggots
there's also yellow and red usb ports that dictate always-on
Oh the always on ports are neat when you get them on thinkpads
intel slashing prices with largeish cleaver as AMD brings competition
quite nice for everybody
