Does type C get loose like Type A does?

2019-10-01 16:09:26 UTC

oh

2019-10-01 16:09:26 UTC

my brain flipped the cables

2019-10-01 16:09:28 UTC

Shit

2019-10-01 16:09:53 UTC

Type A is the one used on PC's, B for mobile devices, and C is "All in one" new one right

2019-10-01 16:10:25 UTC

Type A is misc devices type B is heavy duty stuff and C is all in one

2019-10-01 16:10:45 UTC

oh type b was printers and shit

2019-10-01 16:11:17 UTC

I still have an RN4X, does the type C Port get loose on new devices like micro eventually did

2019-10-01 16:11:22 UTC

Thunderbolt 3—upon which USB4 is based—supports PCIe 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 signaling, making it capable of driving 4K monitors at 60Hz, as well as external desktop-class GPUs that can be used to bolster the graphical capabilities of notebook PCs and small form factor devices like the Mac Mini. USB4 will also inherit the ability to deliver up to 100W of power.

2019-10-01 16:11:24 UTC

pretty cool

2019-10-01 16:11:42 UTC

in the future you could just buy an EGPU and plug it into a laptop using USB4

2019-10-01 16:12:02 UTC

currently EGPUs work but they need more bandwith

2019-10-01 16:13:17 UTC

External GPU's is actually pretty cool, I'd rather dock a laptop then use one of those hilarious desktop part laptops

2019-10-01 16:15:34 UTC

oh definitely

2019-10-01 16:15:47 UTC

External GPUs will be far more common when we get USB4 around standardized

2019-10-01 16:15:55 UTC

so it's not too expensive for manufacturers to implement it

2019-10-01 16:23:35 UTC

Now speaking of naming fuck GPU's who decided laptop GPU's have the exact same names as desktop GPU's and there's secretly 2/3 different product lines with the same name like the RTX 2069 something Max Q, Super, TI, and Max P

2019-10-01 16:26:50 UTC

at least here you can get return/money back if product is not as advertised .. dropping that Max Q from advert is quite big nono

2019-10-01 16:26:56 UTC

as its 30% performance hit :D

2019-10-01 16:27:15 UTC

USB 1 and 2 were easy

2019-10-01 16:28:24 UTC

Then other shit got added and everyone lost track, even the bastards that came up with the names lost track

2019-10-01 16:28:58 UTC

"type C is the reversable plug"

2019-10-01 16:29:16 UTC

But not every type C is created equal

2019-10-01 16:29:29 UTC

And some will be usb3 and others wont

2019-10-01 16:29:35 UTC

Fuck that

2019-10-01 16:31:00 UTC

the scare of frying devices when power delivery was new

2019-10-01 16:31:14 UTC

reeeeeeee

2019-10-01 16:41:56 UTC

USB 1 and 2 were not easy

2019-10-01 16:42:01 UTC

they didn't become retarded overnight

2019-10-01 16:42:14 UTC

USB 1 was renamed to low speed when 1.1 came out, which was full speed

2019-10-01 16:42:22 UTC

then usb 2 came and they called that high speed

2019-10-01 16:43:07 UTC

USB 3 at least had the blue color suggestion, I remember USB 1 & 2 having no discernable difference

2019-10-01 16:44:56 UTC

then they started making ports red for high power

2019-10-01 16:45:00 UTC

and now we have red 10gbit ports too

2019-10-01 17:07:15 UTC

that looks sick

2019-10-01 18:16:18 UTC

Too bad it's fagshit for faggots

2019-10-01 20:47:30 UTC

there's also yellow and red usb ports that dictate always-on

2019-10-01 20:59:10 UTC

Oh the always on ports are neat when you get them on thinkpads
