i watched a video where some guys were flying an RC plane, and they would fly it around, land it, then use a holesaw to put a hole probably the size of a coke can in it, then try to fly it again and by the time it was finally not able to fly anymore, there was more plane gone then there was left
so its gonna be pretty tough to stop something thats flying at you

and if that wingspan is 2 meters then that pod in the midle is probly closer to 20-30 cm?

RC plane don't carry a 2kg payload, nor military grade com equipment

nor have military grade motors and engineering in them

rc planes *can* and *do* carry a 2kg payload

Which is shit if you've been anywhere near military grade equipment in your life

the intention of CIWS is exactly not to shoot anything behind it

Plus if you need any kind of precision with it (and since it only got a 2 kg payload you're not gonna use it to take down buildings I guess), you'll need some heavy coms in order to not be jammed easily

Finally, let's not forget, it's not about the chinese but about any fucking miltary industries, specs given out are only in ideal conditions

if it fired only one and it hit directly it would still make mush out of it most likely and continue its journey to anything behind it

they shoot mortars down with it mainly

point being its not their main target : locations with such

mortar shells are smaller than this drone's body

but I understand CIWS is not very practical to carry with infantry, yeah
