Business, law, etc, are decent non STEM degrees

2019-02-18 21:34:03 UTC

In an ideal society, even sociology kind of stuff would be legitimate degrees

2019-02-18 21:34:12 UTC

Academia is an enemy occupied power structure. I see legal, peaceful ways of crippling it more effective and feasible than trying to infiltrate it (good luck getting tenure from a board of brown translesbians)

2019-02-18 21:35:45 UTC

@Reinhard Wolff If I remember correctly yours was physical anthropology which I think would be STEM. But even cultural anthropology isn't *inherently* bad, even if it's probably watered down under the current system.

2019-02-18 21:37:23 UTC

Imagine what, for example, a business degree would be like if there was no fillers and it was actually 4 years straight of studying how businesses function. It'd actually be a pretty powerful degree.

2019-02-18 21:37:47 UTC

Though even now I don't think it's horrible.

2019-02-18 21:39:21 UTC

ban all the schools.
everyone should strive to be voluntarily illiterate

2019-02-18 21:39:56 UTC

You don’t necessarily need tenure from a “board of brown translesbians” to have legitimate, institutional credibility.

2019-02-18 21:40:24 UTC

@Jacob couldn’t be more true. At my school even though I’m studying physics my degree is still a BA and half the classes I’m taking basically have to be humanities

2019-02-18 21:41:24 UTC

I had to take "diversity credit", which meant classes like "World Art" that literally no one needs

2019-02-18 21:41:47 UTC

even *artists* have literally zero need to listen to some lady drone on about African art

2019-02-18 21:41:50 UTC

@Natasha - PA that was the case for me.
luckily i had friends sharing my major and humanities classes so we just trolled our "professor"

2019-02-18 21:41:58 UTC

If you can’t get through bs classes you lack the fortitude to be an intellectual leader in this movement.

2019-02-18 21:42:04 UTC

But I, as a computer science student, especially don't need it

2019-02-18 21:42:05 UTC

That’s my take.

2019-02-18 21:42:20 UTC

I don't disagree with that, but it's not a matter of getting through them

2019-02-18 21:42:42 UTC

I got through a Cultural Studies class with a far left professor perfectly fine

2019-02-18 21:43:00 UTC

There must be legitimately better things people could be doing than taking these bs classes

2019-02-18 21:43:02 UTC

combating someone who decides your final grade is quite exhilirating, i must say

2019-02-18 21:43:05 UTC

The issue is more, "what *could* you be learning if you weren't wasting time?"

2019-02-18 21:43:23 UTC

It’d just be way more productive to study only the subject you’re majoring in for four years. but higher education is a business and they’ve found a way to market liberal arts as somehow valuable

2019-02-18 21:43:48 UTC

Higher education is a Ponzi scheme

2019-02-18 21:44:26 UTC

@DeusVolk I did take the classes, I am saying they are a powerful vector of anti-white brainwashing

2019-02-18 21:44:57 UTC

My friend left community college to take a 9 month course that teaches literally the same stuff. She learned the same skills in half the time. Now imagine if that community college degree didn't have silly fillers like diversity credit. It probably would have been worth staying in.

2019-02-18 21:45:21 UTC

These days, even community colleges require you to take silly stuff like diversity credit just to get a 2 year degree.

2019-02-18 21:46:01 UTC

It’s literally just adult daycare

2019-02-18 21:47:14 UTC

To be fair you do need stuff like English 101/102 so you can learn to not write like a brainlet on the job, but there is literally zero justification to make programmers take art classes.

2019-02-18 21:48:16 UTC

Yeah but they grade that shit based on how how much you tow dogma

2019-02-18 21:49:44 UTC

Not to mention all the retard professors that literally don’t give a fuck because they have tenure

2019-02-18 21:50:28 UTC

They fucking brag about sleeping with students during lectures

2019-02-18 21:50:58 UTC

“Higher education is a Ponzi scheme”
<:really:453005408064241674>

2019-02-18 21:51:53 UTC

What do you think gov subsidized student loans that anyone can get are?

2019-02-18 21:52:25 UTC

I think the system is terribly broken sure

2019-02-18 21:52:35 UTC

@Danpat Nah, a lot of professors are actually pretty open minded. And even if they're not, they still have to grade based on a rubric. My far leftist professor was giving me all As and I was outright defending segregation.

2019-02-18 21:53:07 UTC

The system of higher education is an arguably good system with bad people at the head

2019-02-18 21:53:08 UTC

If you actually form a coherent argument, cite your sources, and it's a decent school, you should be fine.

2019-02-18 21:53:28 UTC

Theres virtually no oversight they do whatever the fuck they want don’t give me that some asshat drew up a rubric bullshit

2019-02-18 21:54:10 UTC

well, I mean, I did get an A, so...

2019-02-18 21:54:25 UTC

So what?

2019-02-18 21:54:54 UTC

You paid X amount to go there, grade inflation is a thing

2019-02-18 21:55:11 UTC

Lmao
