Polio was 90% wiped out b4 the vaccine

2019-05-26 05:08:23 UTC

In America

2019-05-26 05:08:24 UTC

Fever would occur like 3 days afterwards.

2019-05-26 05:08:36 UTC

Yeah thats true

2019-05-26 05:08:47 UTC

Polio is caused by contamination in food and water

2019-05-26 05:08:51 UTC

Eating poop

2019-05-26 05:09:32 UTC

Lets see if some 3rd world countries were unaffected

2019-05-26 06:00:25 UTC

in 1997, prominent medical journal The Lancet published research claiming to have found a link between the measles vaccine and autism. As a result, in following years the parents of over a million British children decided not to vaccinate their kids. The research has since been thoroughly debunked, but the number of measles cases has skyrocketed, from just several dozen a year in 1997 to over 2,000 cases in 2011. Similar outbreaks have occurred throughout the United States, involving both measles and whooping cough, with doctors and officials blaming low rates of vaccination.

@Citizen Z do you have the source of your claim that polio was 90% wiped out before vaccine?

2019-05-26 07:15:50 UTC

Look into it

98% of ppl who got polio basically just had the flu

2019-05-26 07:35:38 UTC

Then they were protected the rest of their life

2019-05-26 07:36:59 UTC

The year before the vaccine was introduced it says there was around 1000 deaths from polio

2019-05-26 07:37:43 UTC

50+ thousand people die each year now from the flu

2019-05-26 07:38:15 UTC

Polio was eradicated by clean drinking water

2019-05-26 10:31:24 UTC

this is why I think we should put criteria for meta-analysis studies that are good

2019-05-26 10:42:11 UTC

here are the following criteria that make sense, and has good reasons too:
-presence of a placebo controlled group.
```Sugar placebo for pills, saline for injections, otherwise false placebo```
-sample size at has at least 120 participants per group, this means at least 240 participants
```A small sample size means p-hacking and is a hasty generalization```
-latency lasts at least 5 to 10 years long, depending on the questions and requests for better knowledge
```a latency lasting a few months or a few weeks on humans is not an observation of long term effects, therefore anyone claiming studies prove it's safe only base it on studies that have a short latency```
-absence of conflicts of interest
```Any study that likely favors institutions, corporations, governments and other special interest groups likely has manipulated results. Sometimes done with removing some results over fear of losing reputation of product. Studies with no conflicts of interest, where scientists have no stocks in any industry relevant to what they are studying, are independent studies.```
-in case genes are involved, it's important to mention gene-environment (GXE) interactions
```Genes and environment are known to interact. For instance, a person with a mutation that limits his ability to detoxify from heavy metals can make that manifest as a neurodevelopmental disorder.```
The use of such criteria is power intensive, but makes a lot of sense. Since this leads to better accuracy of meta-analysis. These criteria function as a filter.
Found Morocco, a 3rd world country in africa at todays date yet it was free of polio since 1988 even from the outbreak in 2011. Which means that polio cant be caused by feces alone and also we have already linked feces contaminated drinking water to polio the only difference is the feces has to be polio infected which tends to happen when your water supply is feces infected and a someone with the virus goes to the bathroom
2019-05-27 23:27:24 UTC
I cant belive this has escalated this far
2019-05-27 23:27:39 UTC
To the point we are now arguing over vaccines...
2019-05-27 23:28:03 UTC
It gets people sick my dude
2019-05-27 23:29:20 UTC
A dead virus?
2019-05-27 23:29:36 UTC
That's like saying they cause autism
2019-05-27 23:29:59 UTC
In which you cannot "contract" autism, you are either born with it or you arent
2019-05-27 23:30:49 UTC
Ik
2019-05-27 23:30:56 UTC
But it does cause illness
2019-05-27 23:31:05 UTC
If you aren't compatible
2019-05-27 23:31:14 UTC
Which should have test for it
2019-05-27 23:31:20 UTC
But most vaccines don't
2019-05-27 23:31:26 UTC
All vaccines are tested for human use
2019-05-27 23:31:45 UTC
Often tested on pigs or monkeys, and on select volunteer humans
2019-05-27 23:32:15 UTC
Some people can react badly to a vaccine, it happens
2019-05-27 23:32:17 UTC
So your telling me
2019-05-27 23:32:21 UTC
We are all the same?
2019-05-27 23:32:28 UTC
We're all mammals
2019-05-27 23:32:31 UTC
Yes
