I have an interesting thought experiment, if you cut a square of something in half, then cut that half in half, do that to infinity, you have infinite of that something.

2019-05-16 19:38:48 UTC

it'd get so small that you can't cut it in half again

2019-05-16 19:38:49 UTC

who knows that (1 + 2 + ...+n)² = 1^3 + 2^3 + ... + n^3 ?

2019-05-16 19:39:07 UTC

You have infinite pieces though

2019-05-16 19:39:16 UTC

look (1+2+3)² = 6² = 36 = 1 + 8 + 27

2019-05-16 19:39:42 UTC

you said square of something you never said square of infinite something

2019-05-16 19:40:07 UTC

I said *do that to infinity*

2019-05-16 19:40:20 UTC

(1+2+3+4)² = 10² = 100 = 1 + 8 + 27 + 4^3

2019-05-16 19:40:26 UTC

but you'll never reach infinity

2019-05-16 19:40:54 UTC

Can you always cut something in half?

2019-05-16 19:41:13 UTC

if it's only an idea then i guess yes

2019-05-16 19:41:40 UTC

what is the topic of the debate ?

2019-05-16 19:41:41 UTC

No matter how small you cut you will never reach the end of cutting all the half's in half

2019-05-16 19:41:58 UTC

Therefor, infinity

2019-05-16 19:42:40 UTC

@Creating_Worlds like a Russian doll

2019-05-16 19:42:43 UTC

what is the topic of the debate ? @carlito @Creating_Worlds

2019-05-16 19:42:45 UTC

assuming you can cut it to infinity then you'll have infinite pieces

2019-05-16 19:42:54 UTC

Yep

2019-05-16 19:43:05 UTC

Infinite number of that something

2019-05-16 19:43:14 UTC

That's how our world works u know

2019-05-16 19:43:24 UTC

Ether

2019-05-16 19:43:45 UTC

who's anti vaccine ?

2019-05-16 19:43:53 UTC

pity we can't get an infinite number of something we actually need

2019-05-16 19:44:37 UTC

because, this thought experiment has nothing of physical value

2019-05-16 19:45:40 UTC

@Zerato this topic is about 2 minutes old now ^^^^
