Take a magnifying glass with moon light. It is not the least bit warm. Colder than without it. Use that with the sun and your hand is burnt in an instant.

2019-07-14 21:55:03 UTC

some peple think the moon is its own light source and is cooler

2019-07-14 21:55:05 UTC

What?

2019-07-14 21:55:17 UTC

We all been in a shade in some point in our lives right

2019-07-14 21:55:24 UTC

Where would the light come from though

2019-07-14 21:55:35 UTC

Have you never used a magnifying glass to start paper on fire. Try it with moonlight.

2019-07-14 21:55:41 UTC

there was a scientist claiming he proved the moon was made of plasma in the 50s

2019-07-14 21:55:44 UTC

i dont know, it isnt something that is important to me

2019-07-14 21:55:49 UTC

Fair enough

2019-07-14 21:56:07 UTC

it doesnt effect the shape of the earth

2019-07-14 21:56:12 UTC

The moonlight is too weak to make a difference¨

2019-07-14 21:56:12 UTC

I suppose

2019-07-14 21:56:28 UTC

Always a lame excuse without merit.

2019-07-14 21:56:44 UTC

And it certainly does not become colder at the focal point

Sunlight does not start paper on fire. Without a magnifying glass.

2019-07-14 21:57:18 UTC

You can use a very large one and melt rocks.

2019-07-14 21:57:19 UTC

I'm not an idiot @Steve Angell

in favour of the idea of the moon giving its own light is that we can see a crescent moon at night time

2019-07-14 21:59:10 UTC

@Logad Then do not tell me moonlight is too weak. The magnifying glass makes it many times stronger. But it does not work the same as with sunlight. Two very different kinds of light. How is that possible. Impossible were it reflected sunlight. Use a mirror and you will can light a fire with sunlight.

Of course you can concentrate the sun light with a magnifying glass, we call them burning glass here

2019-07-14 22:01:00 UTC

Still, the moonlight is way too weak to make a difference even with a magnifying glass

2019-07-14 22:01:08 UTC

So it should work with moonlight. Yet all you get is a small image of the moon that feels cold not the least bit warm.

2019-07-14 22:01:18 UTC

Moon emits cold light

2019-07-14 22:01:24 UTC

No

2019-07-14 22:01:30 UTC

Yes
Prove me wrong

2019-07-14 22:01:35 UTC

It emits reflected sunlight

2019-07-14 22:01:35 UTC

Just test it with a burning glass.

2019-07-14 22:01:40 UTC

My kid told me the moon is round 🙄

2019-07-14 22:01:43 UTC

Prove me right

2019-07-14 22:02:01 UTC

@Roger Monroe are you blind

2019-07-14 22:02:02 UTC

The moon is a circle of light.

2019-07-14 22:02:02 UTC

Well it is just not spherical? Ig

2019-07-14 22:02:04 UTC

So why are objects in moon light colder then objects in the shade? @Logad

2019-07-14 22:02:30 UTC

Because heat radiation

2019-07-14 22:02:32 UTC

why would your child tell you that?

2019-07-14 22:02:37 UTC

Cuz
