its a staple food in most of the world

you need a bed and a roof

you can't just eat rice

and you missed the point if you have months worth of rice for a few hours of work, you can easily add in other meats and so on along with it without much trouble at all

that causes severe and debilitating malnutrition

but again, realize that in your system the person who decides "what a person needs to live" has essentially total power over the country
