We could always crackdown on socialism. Like another smith act trials or a wave of McCarthyism but more focused on all socialist movements rather than just Communism. The sad thing is this would be impossible due to too many socialists imbedded within the system.

i would say military people are the most authoritarian right, engineers the most libertarian right, professors the most left

tbh I would say primary sector work will tend to have more conservative people

so that's also farming, mining, extraction

there's rural community issues and also land-use conflicts with the government which drive them to that in some ways
