wrong

2018-12-05 18:18:29 UTC

define

2018-12-05 18:18:34 UTC

state capitalism

2018-12-05 18:19:19 UTC

You can't introduce a series of points and then try to force someone to address a specific point.

2018-12-05 18:19:24 UTC

Ok ignore them for now

2018-12-05 18:19:25 UTC

If you do that, I'm just not going to bother

2018-12-05 18:19:34 UTC

Define state capitalism

2018-12-05 18:19:48 UTC

We'll get onto it later

2018-12-05 18:20:38 UTC

I'd say a simple definition is a system where the state owns commercial, for-profit enterprises that are generally ran like any other business is, just owned by the state

2018-12-05 18:20:46 UTC

Then thats socialism

2018-12-05 18:20:52 UTC

state and capitalism is an oxymoron

2018-12-05 18:20:55 UTC

as capitalism is a free market

2018-12-05 18:20:58 UTC

free from state intervention

2018-12-05 18:21:02 UTC

or that is corporationism

2018-12-05 18:21:13 UTC

It's corporatism

2018-12-05 18:21:17 UTC

Not socialism

2018-12-05 18:21:20 UTC

then that isn't capitalism

2018-12-05 18:21:24 UTC

Right

2018-12-05 18:21:24 UTC

Yes correct

2018-12-05 18:21:27 UTC

yes

2018-12-05 18:21:29 UTC

Ok now state socialism

2018-12-05 18:21:31 UTC

I'm not disagreeing

2018-12-05 18:21:32 UTC

define that

2018-12-05 18:21:35 UTC

It is corporatism

2018-12-05 18:21:36 UTC

yeah I know just clarifying

2018-12-05 18:22:35 UTC

A somewhat dirty definition of state socialism is when the state owns the means of production and redistributes everything

2018-12-05 18:22:41 UTC

which isn't the same as state capitalism

2018-12-05 18:22:41 UTC

that is socialism

2018-12-05 18:22:43 UTC

in itself

2018-12-05 18:22:46 UTC

yes

2018-12-05 18:22:47 UTC

no need to call it state

2018-12-05 18:22:53 UTC

Ok so we got that

2018-12-05 18:23:23 UTC

Do you agree even if the means of production are private , if there is heavy state intervention in the market. It would be considered socialism?

2018-12-05 18:23:27 UTC

like Venezuela

2018-12-05 18:24:03 UTC

Because if you look at business freedom in Venezeula, it's below repressed...

2018-12-05 18:24:06 UTC

and repressed is socialist

2018-12-05 18:24:19 UTC

it depends on what is being seized. If small enterprise is allowed but large enterprises are nationalized, it's more or less market socialism

2018-12-05 18:24:27 UTC

depending on how they are run of course

2018-12-05 18:24:34 UTC

As in theres strong state intervention

2018-12-05 18:24:36 UTC

let me show you

2018-12-05 18:24:39 UTC

which is not at all how Nazi Germany was run btw
