Rather than engage in a productive conversation (and admit you made a mistake) you'd rather bluster.

2018-08-15 02:11:15 UTC

alright, bye Zex

2018-08-15 02:11:21 UTC

No I was pretty productive, I just insulted you too.

2018-08-15 02:11:21 UTC

Later

2018-08-15 02:11:24 UTC

lets cool down K0R it's over

2018-08-15 02:11:25 UTC

Get a thicker skin.

2018-08-15 02:11:29 UTC

Goodbye everyone else.

2018-08-15 02:11:47 UTC

Oh, you are mistaken, I was amused, not insulted 😉

2018-08-15 02:11:55 UTC

Will do, Gris.

2018-08-15 02:13:14 UTC

That turned into a mess real fast, and I think it all just came down to Zex not seeing the full context and getting overinvested

2018-08-15 02:13:27 UTC

It would seem

2018-08-15 02:13:39 UTC

It's not his fault, having your core beliefs questioned is uncomfortable.

2018-08-15 02:13:43 UTC

He can get kind of passionate about this stuff from what I've seen of him

2018-08-15 02:13:56 UTC

He'll get used to it with more time on the internet.

2018-08-15 02:14:06 UTC

He may be young

2018-08-15 02:14:26 UTC

I'm suspecting so. Nothing wrong with that. He has the advantage of more time.

2018-08-15 02:14:33 UTC

we're not trying to insult him by questioning his age or ego

2018-08-15 02:15:19 UTC

But moving on

2018-08-15 02:16:15 UTC

Yeah, trust me. When I was a young Christian, I would practically burst into flames at the first prod at my faith. When I first became an Atheist, I was probably worse.

2018-08-15 02:16:34 UTC

But yeah, anyways

2018-08-15 02:17:57 UTC

Pretty much you have to look at the universe and ask is it just random or was intelligence behind it. From that point you can see you are either atheist leaning or faith leaning.

2018-08-15 02:18:38 UTC

discussions about stuff like this are best viewed as us coming together to look at the problem, not defending our views from each other

2018-08-15 02:18:48 UTC

Exactly

2018-08-15 02:18:55 UTC

we're all just people trying to find the answers

2018-08-15 02:19:13 UTC

Believing or not is never the problem

2018-08-15 02:20:26 UTC

As long as one's set of beliefs doesn't lead to... you know, blowing yourself up in a crowded place or taking a joyride with a rented van... (There's a reason I said I'm quite content to live around Christians)

2018-08-15 02:20:37 UTC

💯

2018-08-15 02:21:19 UTC

If you cause harm to anyone due to faith as stated above you need to reevaluate your beliefs.

2018-08-15 02:22:20 UTC

Well, that's just it... I must say that I also have more respect for the man who lives according to the letter of his belief system, than the moderate apologist.

2018-08-15 02:23:55 UTC

Pretty much one should not harm others in order to convert

2018-08-15 02:24:33 UTC

But... Suppose one's core text told one to? And suppose one had a very good reason to believe in it?

2018-08-15 02:24:55 UTC

Are they harming innocent people?

2018-08-15 02:25:21 UTC

Or are these people causing harm as in invading army?

2018-08-15 02:26:43 UTC

Sorry, could you clarify the second sentence? I think I'm reading it wrong.

2018-08-15 02:28:03 UTC

As in said people are invading the other

2018-08-15 02:28:10 UTC

Military action

2018-08-15 02:28:19 UTC

Oh, well in either case innocents are being hurt, yes?

2018-08-15 02:29:10 UTC

Yes but one is hurting citizens and military alike the other is only attacking a peaceful populace

2018-08-15 02:31:38 UTC

Well to me, either would be evil. But suppose someone had a very good reason to believe in a faith that told them to do both?

Example that applies to neither New Testament Christians nor Atheists-

Jews believe that their God has ordained in the past that it is good and right to genocide entire peoples.

2018-08-15 02:32:43 UTC

The convert via sword? That’s what’s you’re asking?

2018-08-15 02:33:19 UTC

It is wrong imo
