yeah no i go to the fantasy section and its TINY, so much more romance novels copy and pasted, "top sellers' supposedly the issu eis no one seems to be buying them. Id rather go to the local antykwariat, or book stores that I know I can get something decent. Also Empik blacklisted a book exposing the crimes of communism... yet allows a ton of books (particularly around last year with nationalism rising) absolutely smearing and giving a flase portrayal fo history and trying to ruin polish WWII heroes.

I tend to believe that european culture is turning into crap

instead of promoting scientific books/novels/something awarded with Nebula award or alike

they promote some total fucking crap that can be barely read and not vomitted after having had done so

some books are fine, but most of them seem to be just bad

I for example tried looking for an old sci-fi book with many awards and I guess that polish shops dont even have it. I saw the copies on Amazon from USA...

I believe that the country should promote books becoming cheap (especially thanks to easy manufacturing process) so people could actually buy them and read them

True, books cost 50zl easy brand new, even many older books newly printed will cost that or more. I like looking for good authors that win smaller prizes here or there, and their books because htey tend ot be fresh and good

meanwhile digging through the drivel has made me lose hope

the ones I usually look for cost me 60-100 pln
scientific ones can be even more sometimes

fucking hell i tend to get PDF's go to my local xero and print it and bind it for 25 zl, but its just not the same quality and comfort

Textbooks can run me 400 zl or more, so i do xero and spend 125 or 70+ for the big books.

Ive seen some good scientific books, some on the keto diet here or there, or some medical books that might have controversial info, 80+ zl. Literal fedora tipping science at bill nye level 50zl, or less and brutally intensely advertised.
