If you had even so much as a rudimentary understanding of Marxian theory, you'd know that the only thing that has ever existed was a transitional stage, and one that took different forms depending on the material conditions. Communism is our end-goal, not socialism. And we also aren't naive enough to believe the Soviet model can be applied everywhere, that would be undialectical.
