I haven't looked too close into Socrates but Plato I think was definitely great, also Aristotle is pretty good

2018-08-22 20:27:56 UTC

Aristotle sounds good also

2018-08-22 20:28:06 UTC

Looking into Greek Gods is also kinda interesting

2018-08-22 20:28:31 UTC

Yeah the myths are a bit intruiging

2018-08-22 20:29:15 UTC

What was the one book about the guy who cames back from Troy and gets lost

2018-08-22 20:29:17 UTC

Where I sort of drift from all of it is with the whole pederasty issue, which Plato absolutely condemned but people like Socrates I think practiced

2018-08-22 20:29:29 UTC

Not sure.

2018-08-22 20:29:37 UTC

Oh the Odyssey

2018-08-22 20:30:49 UTC

I really dislike reading about WW2

2018-08-22 20:30:59 UTC

Yeah it's completely overdone

2018-08-22 20:31:19 UTC

Especially when it comes to NatSoc Germany

2018-08-22 20:31:25 UTC

Courses really don't go in depth to the classical and middle age period enough

2018-08-22 20:31:57 UTC

Nearly my entire Euro history course was from the Renaissance and forward

2018-08-22 20:32:01 UTC

I have read one good German WW2 book and it was about the Germans on the East Front

2018-08-22 20:32:26 UTC

I love reading about Greek and Roman history man

2018-08-22 20:32:50 UTC

Vikings are kinda good

2018-08-22 20:33:08 UTC

"The Dark Age" is one of the biggest lies to be perpetuated by academia really

2018-08-22 20:34:52 UTC

Yep

2018-08-22 20:39:09 UTC

I remember my fucking APUSH teacher back in the day said some nonsense about "the Europeans were just as savage as the Indians were a century before the renaissance", just idiocy.

2018-08-22 20:39:41 UTC

well Britain was hurt pretty badly by the post-Roman invasions

2018-08-22 20:39:45 UTC

other regions less so

2018-08-22 20:39:59 UTC

those hurt the least badly were under Byzantine, and, later, Caliphate rule

2018-08-22 20:40:50 UTC

@FLanon nowadays they're making AP World after 1400 AD only

2018-08-22 20:40:52 UTC

very sad

2018-08-22 20:41:15 UTC

Yes but it they exaggerate it so much and don't even bother to look at anything before the Renaissance period in any real depth

2018-08-22 20:41:22 UTC

ah

2018-08-22 20:41:24 UTC

" nowadays they're making AP World after 1400 AD only"

wtf

2018-08-22 20:41:30 UTC

that doesn't make sense

2018-08-22 20:41:32 UTC

That is a new development

2018-08-22 20:41:40 UTC

I haven't heard about that damn

2018-08-22 20:42:50 UTC

I missed USH 2 Honors by .6

2018-08-22 20:42:53 UTC

Sad!

2018-08-22 20:43:04 UTC

I might take AP History Senior Year

2018-08-22 20:43:18 UTC

Probably not a bad thing when it comes to AP World tbh, they usually take the period between 600-1450 to talk about "the glories of Islamic civilization" and how the Europeans were backward. Still it's an absolute shame that they're not looking into the antiquities period anymore.

2018-08-22 20:44:12 UTC

Of course, they'll still use it to perpetuate anti-European propaganda and all

2018-08-22 20:44:28 UTC

I don't really have that at my school

2018-08-22 20:44:46 UTC

I mean I do find retarded shit in the books but it's not bad

2018-08-22 20:45:02 UTC

They always hate on my boys Jackson and Polk though

2018-08-22 20:45:49 UTC

Yeah they demonize them so much

2018-08-22 20:45:59 UTC

It really is a 1984-esque system
