2018-10-16 19:22:54 UTC

you don't have to major in Political Science to get into politics

2018-10-16 19:23:01 UTC

^this

2018-10-16 19:23:02 UTC

@Rhodesiaboo Don't. Don't do liberal arts!

2018-10-16 19:23:20 UTC

Look up different degrees and look at the employment rate and salary

2018-10-16 19:24:04 UTC

Polit-Sci, even with noble intentions, is not six figure territory unless you run for office

2018-10-16 19:24:12 UTC

And even then, there is tremendous risk

2018-10-16 19:24:33 UTC

You could lose your job based on what the public thinks

2018-10-16 19:42:28 UTC

Polysci is just a useless degree as a whole. One of my cousins graduated with that major but immediately needed to take another path.

2018-10-16 19:43:29 UTC

If anyone here isn’t in college yet or is only a few years in and you’re majoring in something that won’t get you many job prospects:
-change major
-take a trade
-drop out of college altogether and get savvy

2018-10-16 19:44:24 UTC

@The Eternal Armenian S T E M, don't do lib arts, it's run by (((Them)))

2018-10-16 19:44:55 UTC

I’m a crim major.

2018-10-16 19:45:11 UTC

But I can also just as easily drop out of college and get a job.

2018-10-16 19:45:44 UTC

I should’ve done STEM or a trade, but I feel it’s a little late.

2018-10-16 19:45:59 UTC

I'm a junior, I have plenty of time

2018-10-16 19:46:36 UTC

I’m 24, so..

2018-10-16 19:46:47 UTC

I’m thinking long term realizing I only have 2 options left.

2018-10-16 19:46:57 UTC

Continue and finish, or drop out and get savvy.

2018-10-16 19:46:57 UTC

There is a third option: Crime

2018-10-16 19:47:15 UTC

Read Siege, burn my house down and move to Belize?

2018-10-16 19:47:49 UTC

@The Eternal Armenian No. Don't just burn any house, steal a plane and crash into the House of Representatives

2018-10-16 19:47:57 UTC

READ SIEGE

2018-10-16 19:48:07 UTC

I made the mistake of being a psychology major. I did drop out and just get a job but to be fair I'm doing probably the same kind of work I would be stuck with since a bachelor's in psychology is kind of useless

2018-10-16 19:48:32 UTC

I’m an Electrical Engineering major, best decision I’ve made in my life.

2018-10-16 19:48:36 UTC

I had psych last semester and had to always resist the urge of outing myself as an open Nazi.

2018-10-16 19:49:22 UTC

My dream is to take Comp Sci at Carnegie Mellon University and leave working for a highly acredited company

2018-10-16 19:49:30 UTC

you can imagine the weirdos I had in my class when I took Psychology of Sex

2018-10-16 19:50:53 UTC

good lord

2018-10-16 19:51:20 UTC

Industrial/Organizational Psychology was kind of useful and a lot of it I use in my current job.

2018-10-16 19:52:21 UTC

abnormal psychology was a shit show of my classmates sharing stories about their personal problems

2018-10-16 19:52:50 UTC

"My dream is to take Comp Sci at Carnegie Mellon University and leave working for a highly acredited company(edited)"

@Earl of Morrrrgantown interesting, I know a guy who did that. Have you started doing Comp Sci yet

2018-10-16 19:53:13 UTC

>Industrial/Organizational Psychology was kind of useful and a lot of it I use in my current job.

@fhtagn what did you learn in it that you use in your current job

2018-10-16 19:53:44 UTC

@Julien Blanc I'm taking it in the 2nd half of the school year. Next year, I'm taking AP Comp Sci A

2018-10-16 19:55:32 UTC

I already know how to make a similar looking website such as redstorm2018 with NotePad++ and some time. But...I'm also taking courses on different "real" programming languages, like C++ and C#

2018-10-16 19:56:11 UTC

>I already know how to make a similar looking website such as redstorm2018 with NotePad++

ah, html and CSS

2018-10-16 19:56:34 UTC

a lot of the useful stuff for best management practices and looked at what best motivates employees

2018-10-16 19:56:42 UTC

@Julien Blanc Its not impressive. I get that. But I self taught myself that in about a few hours

2018-10-16 19:56:50 UTC

that's pretty good actually

2018-10-16 19:57:02 UTC

I'm not diminishing it lol

2018-10-16 19:57:29 UTC

😆

2018-10-16 19:59:34 UTC

Poli sci isn't too bad, under the right circumstances. If you have great grades, went to an ivy, or become an officer in the military then it works. If you don't then it's still better than the average liberal arts degree, but it's not going to land you many jobs.
