The Government is like how the church used to be when the government used to be ran by the church they used to charge something called indulgence tax or a sin tax.

Similar to what they call now the carbon tax

For example a farmer would go to confession and say father for I have sinned and the father would say go home and resight 55 rosaries

Then all week in the spare time the farmer would recite rosaries, any time he had spare time he sat there and would recite resirosaries

The next week he would do it all over again

Until finally he would go to the father and say forgive me father for I have sinned and the father would tell him go home and recites 75 rosaries and the farmer finally said father I don't have time to recite those rosaries I just don't have time anymore and the father would say well give me 20 bucks and all say your rosaries for you

so that's a fair point about that but how would that relate to a carbon tax?

So the farmer gave the father $20 went home and thought all this is great my sins are forgiven and all I had to do was pay 20 bucks but really the father never said any other rosaries he just took the money

and the government won't use the money to stop CO2 emissions yeah?

The point is is what government does is they tell you you are guilty you have sinned just pay us money And you will be forgiven
