Originally atheists believed in god or gods

They just rejected them

"if there was a god then why do children die of disease, god must be cruel"

But thats just saying children die. We dont know why god or the creator built things the way they are built. We just know it was built this way and we have to live it. We know this isnt heaven. If everything was perfect it would be heaven, which supposedly we dont go to till we die. Earth was built for us to learn and to have challenges i believe. It can't be perfect or we would be bored and have nothing to do
