wait no i don't

2019-02-25 16:12:34 UTC

lol

2019-02-25 16:22:38 UTC

😂

2019-02-25 16:46:55 UTC

But in terms of gender, we have no indication of it being biological.

2019-02-25 16:49:04 UTC

Like femininity and masculinity

2019-02-25 16:51:50 UTC

@Shabam
*Yet all the greatest thinkers in history are men*
Women didn't have the same opportunities in society throughout history. That changed surprisingly quick recently.
So I think we know why that is

2019-02-25 17:36:57 UTC

@Madeline <3 You have bad spatial awareness and good comprehension because your brain structures are more female than male

2019-02-25 17:57:59 UTC

@AstralSentient B's, men are stronger because of biology

2019-02-25 17:58:09 UTC

No training will change that

2019-02-25 17:59:45 UTC

Can someone sum up what we are talking about and what arguments have been made thanks

2019-02-25 18:03:42 UTC

True, I don't deny that. I'm referring to gender norms.

2019-02-25 18:38:37 UTC

@AstralSentient gender roles follow the lead of nature. Men , masculine, women, feminine

2019-02-25 18:38:59 UTC

Can a man give birth?

2019-02-25 18:45:05 UTC

Any direct evidence for that?
Otherwise it is just assumption.

2019-02-25 19:05:13 UTC

Men can give birth

2019-02-25 19:06:09 UTC

Also being stronger and proving the constructed idea of masculinity are very different things

2019-02-25 20:11:48 UTC

@Madeline <3 men can give birth? This stuff right here is the problem

2019-02-25 20:12:05 UTC

You want to redefine the word man. I see no reason to follow suit

2019-02-25 20:38:28 UTC

😂

2019-02-25 20:38:36 UTC

Yeah that's kinda eh

2019-02-25 21:37:37 UTC

How hard is it to Google the meaning of words? I guess it's easier to stay wrong and use the "fake" card 24/7 isn't it.

2019-02-25 21:40:40 UTC

Sex: "either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions."

Gender: "either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. The term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female."

2019-02-25 21:41:10 UTC

There is no "redefining" the words when they're straight from the definitions.

2019-02-25 22:59:09 UTC

What sourc urban dictionary?

2019-02-25 22:59:52 UTC

Either way, the only useful definition is the one based on biology

2019-02-25 23:46:40 UTC

It also isn't as simple as binary, there are intersex people out there where their exact biological sex is ambiguous. Regarding gender, there are multiple possible gender identities. Altho masculine and feminine is the dominant binary, and is applied to the sexes.

2019-02-25 23:58:10 UTC

Google the definitions. I admire your ability to pick and choose which facts are correct and which facts aren't, based on your beliefs.

2019-02-25 23:59:53 UTC

Sex is biological. Gender is social. Hence, trans*gender*. You can redefine English words or decide they don't exist if you want.

2019-02-26 00:06:22 UTC

Transgender is not a gender

2019-02-26 00:08:51 UTC

I don't think they meant that, just that the term refers to something malleable.

2019-02-26 00:09:04 UTC

But also, there is Transsexual

2019-02-26 00:09:17 UTC

Not a gender.

2019-02-26 00:09:41 UTC

That's a sexual deviants preference

2019-02-26 00:10:52 UTC

It being someone who changed their gender identity along with medical assistance to change some characteristics, a subset of transgender

2019-02-26 00:12:08 UTC

Not a gender.

2019-02-26 00:12:24 UTC

Gender is either Male or female.

2019-02-26 00:12:43 UTC

This is not complicated

2019-02-26 00:12:43 UTC

Nobody is arguing that transgender is a gender

2019-02-26 00:13:23 UTC

Okay. That makes sense then.

2019-02-26 00:17:18 UTC

Being transgender means that your identified gender is not the same as your assigned gender
