like mansplaining

2019-04-16 05:01:11 UTC

and manspreading

2019-04-16 05:01:21 UTC

to attack men

2019-04-16 05:02:00 UTC

It's not necessarily "stupid" but I'd say it is unnecessary

2019-04-16 05:02:33 UTC

I don't agree with man-spreading due to the facts of how men's legs and that *area* works

2019-04-16 05:03:02 UTC

Mansplaining is a bit different due to it being a woman being talked down by a man and I believe that is a real problem

2019-04-16 05:04:07 UTC

I agree that it is a problem but its directed to men but women also do that

2019-04-16 05:04:28 UTC

Huh.

2019-04-16 05:04:51 UTC

It's not the same thing

2019-04-16 05:04:58 UTC

My personal issue with “mansplaining” is that it can literally be applied to any situation regardless of intent.

2019-04-16 05:05:29 UTC

Women having a place to actually speak or speaking before a man isn't the same as a man talking *down* to a woman

2019-04-16 05:05:43 UTC

Or talking over/dismissing them simply for being a woman while they are speaking

2019-04-16 05:06:05 UTC

That’s just being a dick, though.

2019-04-16 05:06:11 UTC

🤔

2019-04-16 05:06:19 UTC

Mansplaining

2019-04-16 05:06:35 UTC

"mansplaining" can be applied to both genders

2019-04-16 05:06:36 UTC

I mean, from my perspective, I suppose.

2019-04-16 05:07:00 UTC

not just man

2019-04-16 05:07:15 UTC

Again it isn't the same thing

2019-04-16 05:07:28 UTC

By definition, “mansplaining” only applies to men, Alexandre.

2019-04-16 05:07:36 UTC

yeah ik

2019-04-16 05:07:49 UTC

but why does it have man in it

2019-04-16 05:07:50 UTC

It’s in the term “man” which then has “splaining” tacked onto it.

2019-04-16 05:08:00 UTC

If you are saying both women and men can explain to each other well duh yeah

2019-04-16 05:09:23 UTC

is there a word that only applies to women

2019-04-16 05:09:34 UTC

that has the same definition as mansplaining

2019-04-16 05:09:40 UTC

Hmm nope

2019-04-16 05:10:24 UTC

so its only directed to men

2019-04-16 05:10:38 UTC

and they are the only gender that talks over a women

2019-04-16 05:11:37 UTC

I don’t agree with the concept of “mansplaining” due to how easily it can be applied to any situation. “Mansplaining” inherently assumes a man’s intentions as being negative or sexist. That leads to the issue of potentially demonizing men. The most ironic case is when a man talks down to a woman, and then another man comes to the woman’s defense. The defending man has good intentions, but since he is talking for the woman and “mansplaining” to protect her, he is therefore somehow also bad, even if he knows he has more experience dealing with the aggressor and knows how to talk to him. Things like that are my issue with the concept.

2019-04-16 05:11:45 UTC

Jesus, I made that long

2019-04-16 05:12:12 UTC

lol

2019-04-16 05:12:15 UTC

I agree

2019-04-16 05:12:35 UTC

Just don't explain for women

2019-04-16 05:12:37 UTC

Problem solved

2019-04-16 05:12:54 UTC

yeah but women also explain over men

2019-04-16 05:13:23 UTC

Smh

2019-04-16 05:13:26 UTC

and feminists are only directing it to men

2019-04-16 05:13:33 UTC

Because that is what men do

2019-04-16 05:13:38 UTC

Kek

2019-04-16 05:13:41 UTC

wtf
