He's the faith master 6000 and all questions are just heresy

2018-09-09 15:09:31 UTC

I can go "go open a science book and don't ask me to spoon feed you"

2018-09-09 15:09:47 UTC

Science book

2018-09-09 15:10:04 UTC

The big book of all science

2018-09-09 15:10:44 UTC

I mean even a 3rd grade book will do to prove a globe

2018-09-09 15:10:50 UTC

Double standards only exist because they can't coherently provide a proper argument that doesn't fall into unfalsifiable claims or a war on credentials

2018-09-09 15:11:10 UTC

But it'd be condenscending to say this when I'm the one responsible to prove my own damn claims

2018-09-09 15:11:28 UTC

The simplest argument for arbitrary curvature measurement actually comes from Gauss

2018-09-09 15:11:30 UTC

I wouldn't go as far as what Fluff is saying, there is a benefit of being skeptical of science

2018-09-09 15:11:54 UTC

Science is skeptical of itself

2018-09-09 15:11:58 UTC

But informed skeptism and FE belief are different

2018-09-09 15:12:05 UTC

Yes

2018-09-09 15:12:23 UTC

You need to learn something to disprove it

2018-09-09 15:12:37 UTC

And most of the time I see misrepresentations

2018-09-09 15:12:41 UTC

Isn't she a socialist Gwench?

2018-09-09 15:12:46 UTC

At best?

2018-09-09 15:12:58 UTC

The argument basically holding that if you line up a series of level fences or planks and measure the distance from one to the next it should be linear, but as you move outwards, the error starts to accumulate as a parabola or any arbitrary planar curve

2018-09-09 15:13:26 UTC

It's a principle in differential geometry

2018-09-09 15:13:35 UTC

@I-VaPE-ChEMtrAiLS I’m not sure. Maybe.

2018-09-09 15:13:49 UTC

You can figure out any random geometry using this method

2018-09-09 15:13:55 UTC

Why does the website call her a communist then? @The Gwench

2018-09-09 15:14:47 UTC

I love how people in the US are so anti communist but don't realise that their idea of communism is still right wing to the rest of the world

2018-09-09 15:14:51 UTC

It's a joke

2018-09-09 15:15:11 UTC

Cause socialism = communism

2018-09-09 15:15:15 UTC

@I-VaPE-ChEMtrAiLS Ask the author.

2018-09-09 15:15:29 UTC

Imagine

2018-09-09 15:15:43 UTC

I mean I don't know physics, it's boring and full of numbers. But basic science literacy and understanding how to read a scientific paper means I can get a wee clue of if something is trustworthy @Goldsteel

2018-09-09 15:16:02 UTC

Also socialism isn't communism
Ree

2018-09-09 15:16:05 UTC

It can be difficult though

2018-09-09 15:16:05 UTC

Same

2018-09-09 15:16:16 UTC

Physics is boring :3

2018-09-09 15:16:25 UTC

Have you played arxiv verses vixra

2018-09-09 15:16:42 UTC

No

2018-09-09 15:16:47 UTC

It's a game about trying to tell the difference between real papers and fake papers that look real

2018-09-09 15:17:15 UTC

I couldn't do that, not if it was a topic I didn't understand

2018-09-09 15:17:24 UTC

I can only pull about 60% since some people write garbage papers and some fake papers sound plausible but make no new claims

2018-09-09 15:17:55 UTC

oh that seems fun

2018-09-09 15:17:55 UTC

People make a fake paper claiming they developed a new UV laser, bogus

2018-09-09 15:18:01 UTC

The socialist studies non stem gross topics would get me every time

2018-09-09 15:18:11 UTC

Man writes horribly flawed paper in M theory
