Is Monsanto responsible for the deaths of the honey bee population? 👆
Oh I know this
Kinda, but it's more complex than you think it would be
Oh my
Colony collapse disorder isn't caused by Glyphosates, it's more often neonicotinoids that cause rapid changes in bee populations
To blame the company that produces it however is unfair, as it's up to the farmer what they use on their crops
What are neonicorticoids?
Neonicotineoids
They are used on crops to protect them, harmless to people but harmful to bees (this was a shock at the time it was discovered)
However colony collapse is also caused by a number of other factors that aren't just chemical
@I-VaPE-ChEMtrAiLS I disagree. The average farmer is going to believe they are using a good product and trust that big corporations will produce the safest product possible.
Poor 🐝
The effects of neonicotineoids are widely known and a number of governments make efforts to ban them, as well as Glycophospates. The issue with the Glycophospates are that they cause cancer, this has been known for a while as they are banned in the EU but has been picked up in the news cycle with the recent legal case.
