It's still up in the air whether it will be open to the public or not

2020-04-29 04:01:42 UTC

I don't think there'll be any major gatherings for the next 18 months

2020-04-29 04:01:52 UTC

Just wait for the next PATRIOT act

2020-04-29 04:02:01 UTC

I feel you

2020-04-29 04:02:15 UTC

but I'm getting real tired of not working

2020-04-29 04:03:37 UTC

And I'm getting real tired of all the adds with rich people telling us poors to stay inside and not make money for food and necessities

2020-04-29 04:06:10 UTC

I'm still working because I'm essential

2020-04-29 04:06:25 UTC

I'd be making $200 more to stay at home unemployed

2020-04-29 04:06:36 UTC

Apologies, I'm jumping around doing multiple things at once, yes, Black Horse Militia will take newcomers with very little experience. We have experienced people, myself included that can train you on all sorts of methods that are useful to the minuteman, what we are looking for is a true desire to participate in something bigger than yourself. Not only to learn, but to become a pillar of your community.

2020-04-29 04:09:49 UTC
2020-04-29 04:10:59 UTC

what's your values?

2020-04-29 04:11:14 UTC

as an organization, that is

2020-04-29 04:13:15 UTC

so our only overarching theme is constitutionalism

2020-04-29 04:13:18 UTC

beyond that

2020-04-29 04:13:21 UTC

we don't care

2020-04-29 04:13:39 UTC

no religion, no social ideologies, no politics are forced on anyone

2020-04-29 04:13:49 UTC

I like constitutionalism

2020-04-29 04:13:56 UTC

as individuals we all have our own values, but that which binds us right now is constitutionalism

2020-04-29 04:15:06 UTC

Our CO is Rozzville Grace, a DJ who used to be big in the rap and hip hop game throughout the pacific northwest and southern BC Canada. He's a good dude. I'm the Council Rep for Kitsap, and each of the counties that have enough people have a Council Representative.

2020-04-29 04:15:51 UTC

interesting

2020-04-29 04:15:56 UTC

For my county, we meet publicly once a month and try to train anywhere from once to twice a month privately and take on other classes as they come up for first aid, survival, prepping, even cooking, just whatever useful comes up we put it out and some of us will go to it

2020-04-29 04:17:00 UTC

Imagine if you will, society resets, and many people might be left without the usual convenience they are accustomed to, would knowing something like how to cut hair with sheers and a razor be a useful thing? Sure as fuck would, personal hygiene in those situations is far more important than in times like now where we can bathe in sanitizer

2020-04-29 04:17:10 UTC

So don't overthink simple skills that you bring to the table

2020-04-29 04:17:28 UTC

Everyone has something, even the urge to learn, it is how we apply that which makes it useful.

2020-04-29 04:19:03 UTC

Sorry if I'm taking a while to respond, I'm trying to balance this with pysics work

2020-04-29 04:19:29 UTC

no worries, I'm jumping through multiple chats and playing a game at the same time, because Murica

2020-04-29 04:19:30 UTC

😉

2020-04-29 04:20:22 UTC

Indeed

2020-04-29 04:21:23 UTC

Reckon I'll look into the group when I'm not as busy, and by that I mean probably when this semester finishes in a week.

2020-04-29 04:22:30 UTC

no worries

2020-04-29 04:23:58 UTC

about a year in on a mechanical engineering degree. I still know more from videos on the internet and building things with my dad.

2020-04-29 04:24:22 UTC

this degree better have a good return on investment

2020-04-29 04:39:12 UTC

Good luck with that, I was a mechanical engineering tech (Machinist Mate) in the Navy. The degree wasn't something I was interested in. Some of the most difficult classes have nothing to do with your level of knowledge or practical ability to build or invent a system for a situation, but have to do with shit like "technical writing".

2020-04-29 04:40:04 UTC

That being said, engineers are always useful in society.

2020-04-29 04:40:44 UTC

Yeah. I had a class this semester that expected me to write three essays on the work "wow"

2020-04-29 04:41:12 UTC

gotta love these liberal arts schools

2020-04-29 04:41:51 UTC

Just wish they'd let me take the engineering stuff and skip the stuff that doesn't even apply to my degree

2020-04-29 04:52:11 UTC

lol

2020-04-29 04:56:33 UTC

I should be getting some more engineering focused courses like CAD design and statics next semester
