@Frederick Bernal
I feel like your user name is familiar
Were you in the "old" canada discord from Pete, or something?
No
Same name
Hmm
The Canada General you mean?
I’m still in there
It’s dead in there
Maybe that's it
Well I'm part of a team of about 16 people mostly ex military any interest in getting together for airsoft matches
I just watched that about 10 minutes ago
👍
I've been a CCFR member since it's inception
yes
unfortunately the gun lobby has been very ineffectual
and they don't condone any explicit non-compliance talk on their facebook group
ended up in a private conversation with their moderators and asked them "so what do you tell people when the gov't come for everyone's guns by law? hand them in and wait for the laws to make it all legal again?"
"since you'd have to keep touting the 'legal gun owner' line to keep your righteous superiority"
The CCFR should be renamed to the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Privileges
Yeah I know a few of the CCFR big whigs personally and I wouldn't buy a membership many of the leaders behind groups like the NFA or the CCFR make money from our licencing system so they will fight tooth and nail to keep it
And the NFA and CCFR are terrified at the idea of holding any sort of pro firearms protest or rally
The only person likely to rally is Don Lindsay of the Canadian Firearms Network, and he's one crazy bastard
I like him
I guess they just know that they can't really achieve anything
so they'll do all that they can for as long as they can
while collecting that revenue
The problem is the CCFR can't advocate for things that break the law and remain legitimate at the same time.
That's what pot legalization activists did.
Imagine if they had spent years going around telling people not to use cannabis until it was legalized.
Different situation
Different situation
Not really the only difference is public perception. They are brainwashed to fear guns and brainwashed to think drugs and poor moral standards are normal
If the ccfr put in the effort they could launch an effective public information campaign that included public outreach at rallies etc
There's been a public outreach campaign for probably 2 years now.
Explainer videos, media appearances, the TV show, etc
Personally I have spent years in political activism on the "right" Canada is already dead
The www.gundebate.ca website
The only people who watch their videos and tv show own guns
