Realistically Communists were only ever pro gun as means to power. Once in charge it no longer becomes convenient for them to have a well armed civilian populace

There are truly pro gun left wingers just like pro gun right wingers, they are simply more rare. But a truly pro gun Communist? Impossible.

Even if you take their word fpr it that all they want is a stateless society with no hierarchy, firearms are power. Those with guns have it. Those without, dont.

I usually get along with anarcho commies fine. Authcoms can fuck right off though.

I'd agree with them on certain traditionally left topics like gay rights, but then they'd go on about wanting to institutionally curb stomp people for thought crime after I got to know them

Some times I could get through to them though by pointing out how their willingness to use law to push down on those they disagree with is fascist

Like one dude I know who's an anarchist but pretty left leaning. Sometimes he lets emotion get the better of him and talks about using the legal system to oppress others who aren't hurting anyone. I'm just like, it's all fun and games until you're at the wrong end of the barrel, and everyone thinks they're in the right so try to put yourself in their shoes.
A lot of the radical authoritarians seem to get it in their heads that their political opponents are inhuman, or subhuman, so it's easy to justify atrocities.
