Using a program like pidgin you can create accounts and conferences rooms on a computer or server and invite users to connect from their device.

The thing is not many people are using PC's so we have to brainstorm something phone friendly but still secure.

Discord has an app for both iPhone and Android. One nice thing about it is you can do a notification that will broadcast to everyone who has the app.

Platform's a tricky thing. I wager most of us lack the technical proficiency to host anything of consequence, and very few of us want lemp'd.

I propose that rather than a "boog platform", we subdivide topics into a federation of forums and chatrooms dedicated to specific topics hosted by different people, and with no explicit boog branding.

Strong encrypted com's don't scale well, and should be kept to your local groups with strong vetting.
