They brought out the heat. 30 guys MRAP

2020-05-05 02:30:58 UTC

Oh 30

2020-05-05 02:31:25 UTC

The crew should have had higher numbers

2020-05-05 02:32:12 UTC

Was the crew even armed?

2020-05-05 02:32:29 UTC

Yeah some

2020-05-05 02:32:32 UTC

Or was it just a group of guys having a good time

2020-05-05 02:32:42 UTC

Of course they're going to bring enough people to outmatch their opponents. I forgot the number but i think it's something like 3 times

2020-05-05 02:32:43 UTC

When I say armed, I mean, aside from CCW.

2020-05-05 02:33:04 UTC

Rifles and PCs

2020-05-05 02:33:37 UTC

Damn. They should have let more people know, I'm sure there are plenty in the area to have had a QRF on standby.

2020-05-05 02:34:02 UTC

#poorleadership ; Can only improve though.

2020-05-05 02:34:33 UTC

I suppose if you're going to have a qrf, it should comprise of enough people to make things scary as a deterrence.

2020-05-05 02:34:49 UTC

A couple of dudes can easily be removed

2020-05-05 02:35:16 UTC

Yeah. Lack of the event being common knowledge is a main issue.

2020-05-05 02:35:53 UTC

Well after tonight people will know and hopefully folks that see it want to join will start reaching out.

2020-05-05 02:36:17 UTC

Plenty of people new. No one wanted to go to Odessa.

2020-05-05 02:37:29 UTC

Or was near enough to make it in time.

2020-05-05 02:37:51 UTC

A major issue with this sort of thing is that the government will always bring more people, and is always willing to escalate to a higher level of violence. Force on force is not an option in these cases, and deterrence only works temporarily unless on a massive scale.

2020-05-05 02:37:58 UTC

Fair enough. I'm nowhere near the area.

2020-05-05 02:38:50 UTC

Well, revolutions only begin 1 way. Legal and peaceful isn't working so far sadly, and hopefully it doesn't come to violence; But it's only a matter of time before it does if anyone really wants things to change.

2020-05-05 02:40:27 UTC

What sucks is all the people who could have been there. I dug around looking for info after it happened and with the amount of people flapping gums about supporting our dudes there could have easily been 100 or more people there. They just didn't go.

2020-05-05 02:44:49 UTC

The way to win at this sort of stuff is to cripple your larger opponent and make it difficult for them to effectively operate. Traditionally called some hotwords that I'll refer to as not symmetrical disagreements. Now this doesn't have to be physical. One example is the church of scientology (I mean fuck them but hear me out). They gained their legal status as a tax exempt church by bullying the IRS. I mean, who the fuck bullies the IRS? They did it by filing tons of frivolous lawsuits against the IRS and key politicians. Absolutely overwhelming them logistically so to speak.
I'm not saying that particular example is the answer, but it's the type of thinking we need.

2020-05-05 02:59:20 UTC

And dont underestimate the lack of follow thru once media shows up. It isn't a guarantee that things dont go sideways, but 1. It makes them rethink or at least delay and 2. It creates a record of events that can be used in various ways after the fact such as lawsuits, recruitment, gives insight into capabilities and so on

You don't fight a superpower head on. You do what the colonists did and what the Viet Cong did and what the towel heads are doing. You make it to costly for your enemy to continue the fight. Not necessarily in body count, but absolutely in the eyes of their population it must be seen as to costly to keep trying to crush the enemy

2020-05-05 03:02:54 UTC

Definitely should have had more people there. Especially if anyone was expecting police action. I didn't know about it until after the fact, of course I'm also hundreds of miles away.

2020-05-05 03:03:33 UTC

I agree. I just hope my kids don't have to go through this shit.

2020-05-05 03:04:36 UTC

Thats why im doing what im can. My girls are 2 and 3 I vomit at the thought of them growing up in the country we are becoming.

2020-05-05 05:50:33 UTC

All those factors are why I suggested a more targeted response to these types of things. Absolutely understandable everyone wants to shake out at the top of the pile but realistically unless there is a targeted plan, it's hard to get a coherent response

I thought Texas WAS open carry?

2020-05-05 10:29:10 UTC

@Abe Clark the public servant heroes called it carrying a firearm in a bar, which is illegal.

2020-05-05 10:30:43 UTC

Ah I got you, thanks

2020-05-05 16:21:47 UTC

jesus fucking christ

2020-05-05 16:22:02 UTC

i thought they had a swat van or some shit

2020-05-05 16:22:18 UTC

thats a whole ass MRAP with a gun turret on top

2020-05-05 17:47:26 UTC

You’d be surprised how many MRAPs are owned by LE.

2020-05-05 17:49:13 UTC

they buy them up from auctions on the cheap

2020-05-05 17:49:35 UTC

There are a lot of military combat vehicles in LE hands. Most of them were given to them under an Obama era program that auctioned or donated surplus military equipment to domestic LE. It was a big deal like 10 years ago. Now they all just have them and no one says shit about it.

2020-05-05 17:50:17 UTC

I have a link to find out if the feds have loaned your local or state PD equipment

2020-05-05 17:50:42 UTC

Police having that shit is insane. Theyre basically a standing army now.
