People kinda shit on airsoft a bit but it can be useful as supplemental training. Actually pretty incredible sight I saw at a private event in a cordoned off ghost town, around 50 or so combat vets all shouting the B word that rhymes with igloo.

As a young kid, my friends and I always liked to larp in the park and we didn't look nowhere near normal. I garuntee you ask any guy there if they would do the same thing I did and wear cardboard suits and duct tape clothes they would laugh and say 'naw'.

Also @Artemis airsoft is great. I’ve met some amazing people and I work with them a decent amount, training and shit, some of them have legit training, ones an ex marine, paramilitary contractor, and another going to marines soon. It’s very nice, very recreational, and it’s just a nice experience especially if you don’t own a firearm
