that's why to me it's important to be able to practice stuff solo

if I show up to an established group for something and I've already practiced it for years and read a bunch of books etc., I'm usually received with less reserve

Yeah. Because 99% of everyone else is just a floater. They want to write because its nice to think of yourself as a writer and dream about publishing. But they suck at it and they are fragile people so they'll quit within a year or so or produce nothing and their participation in the group will revert to memes and discussions of their personal life

but I do my best ecommerce work at like 10pm-2 am

because that's closer to what my heart desires

I like producing/composing, hate mixing and mastering. Thus I end up with a huge backlog of unreleased music
