see, I don't like this attitude

2017-08-15 16:11:23 UTC

don't let anyone tell you anything about what you are doing

2017-08-15 16:11:27 UTC

or that you are complaining

2017-08-15 16:11:33 UTC

complain away

2017-08-15 16:12:00 UTC

these are just expectations absorbed from the social world, which have decreasing relevance

2017-08-15 16:12:14 UTC

alt-right literally is complaining on the internet

2017-08-15 16:12:21 UTC

that's what it started from

2017-08-15 16:12:34 UTC

your words are agency

2017-08-15 16:12:48 UTC

there's a lot worth complaining about it in the world

2017-08-15 16:12:51 UTC

the ability to have your message reach people far away, is extremely powerful

2017-08-15 16:13:04 UTC

and not in the sense of some big soapbox

2017-08-15 16:13:07 UTC

IRC with tor is a good solution for the privacy-minded

2017-08-15 16:13:09 UTC

just reaching individuals I mean

2017-08-15 16:13:38 UTC

I don't think its privacy that is desired as much as independence

2017-08-15 16:13:44 UTC

irc gives both

2017-08-15 16:13:55 UTC

I don't think anyone would care too much if random people read this chat, but it being shut down or curtailed is different

2017-08-15 16:14:19 UTC

IRC existed for years, and its great, but its obvious from Discord's success

2017-08-15 16:14:31 UTC

that convenience is very, very important

2017-08-15 16:14:49 UTC

Discord has definite advantages in user friendliness and the ability to share images and voice chat easily is very nice

2017-08-15 16:15:13 UTC

its a really big deal I think

2017-08-15 16:15:28 UTC

this thing is bigger than videogames

2017-08-15 16:15:52 UTC

i wonder if its possible to make an irc client with at least the image sharing if not voip

2017-08-15 16:16:00 UTC

mumble always exists for voip as a decentralized open source solution

2017-08-15 16:16:25 UTC

you probably could, but it would be a mess

2017-08-15 16:17:38 UTC

probably, would be tough for people on older clients

2017-08-15 16:17:45 UTC

last time the irc protocol was updated was 2000 it seems

2017-08-15 16:18:18 UTC

zeronet with tor or at least vpn is a good option

2017-08-15 16:18:43 UTC

i've used it it works good. they have discord/chan type chat rooms in there. you can make anything.

2017-08-15 16:19:00 UTC

man the fucking BBC

2017-08-15 16:19:06 UTC

>accidentally

2017-08-15 16:19:13 UTC

if you don't use tor or vpn though it's very poor for privacy. everything you do is logged, which is how the whole things works. it's like a blockchain.

2017-08-15 16:19:18 UTC

train hitting CNN reporter, come on

2017-08-15 16:19:27 UTC

its so obvious

2017-08-15 16:19:38 UTC

the motivation, the mentality

2017-08-15 16:19:42 UTC

what they want you to think and feel

2017-08-15 16:20:11 UTC

so if the CNN symbol is a reporter

2017-08-15 16:20:16 UTC

is the train literally Trump?

2017-08-15 16:20:21 UTC

i was suprised he retweeted posobiec last night, with a quote that could be taken different ways... great trolling

2017-08-15 16:20:22 UTC

even with tor or vpn that would not be private, blockchains are public and anonymous
