I don't think he is basing his stance on equality though. Rather, that you can't change people, you can only change yourself.

Take a view out of your window, observe all the buildings, pavements, television sets, billboards, minorities, agitators, offices - literally as if they are flora growing out of the soil, a nasty kind of flora, a fungi

2018-03-30 15:19:57 UTC

My concern is that maybe if we start with the personal that it will be the sole focus once that snowball gets going. Once you are on the path, you need to find fellow travellers.

2018-03-30 15:20:11 UTC

Then again, starting with the personal might be all that we can do.

2018-03-30 15:21:13 UTC

Promote this, and maintain this, and connect with the like minded, but not so fast in promoting positive values, as much as in ignoring systemic values

2018-03-30 15:22:29 UTC

YOU CANNOT CHANGE PEOPLE, BUT YOU CAN CHANGE ATTITUDES

2018-03-30 15:22:38 UTC

WHEN THOSE ATTITUDES DELIVER US FROM EQUALITY, WE CAN HAVE HIERARCHY

2018-03-30 15:22:46 UTC

UNTIL THAT TIME, PERSONAL SECESSION IS MERELY ACQUIESCENCE

2018-03-30 15:23:32 UTC

I'm starting from my own premise that the problem is of much greater scope than the simple social apathy

2018-03-30 15:24:34 UTC

Progress is following its own imperatives now, and as I've outlined, many of things started to be self-important

2018-03-30 15:25:05 UTC

Ai for example, the most striking example of a thing that has no importance other than in a very strange sense, in itself

2018-03-30 15:25:20 UTC

It's a golem

2018-03-30 15:26:21 UTC

People have in fact finally developed this sense of uneasiness, in that they feel that they are subjected to something mechanical and dehumanized, that the process is going out of any direct and tangible human direction and intervention

2018-03-30 15:27:15 UTC

They feel oppressed by things they hardly can believe are operated by any single individual, merely through the extension of the principle of action-consequences out of the scope of human control

2018-03-30 15:27:50 UTC

Everything has some "utilitarian" purpose, except that the original design is perpatually lost in the immediate past, which itself pushed into the farther past by the next most immediate past

2018-03-30 15:28:00 UTC

Until no one has any idea where it is all going, if you are able to understand me

2018-03-30 15:29:11 UTC

We live in a system perpetually solving problems whose creator is almost untraceable

2018-03-30 15:33:49 UTC

@diversity_is_racism Too true but gotta start somewhere
@Arthur Konrad But they are still going to maintain pedestalizing of equality as a value unless they realize this is the damaging assumption. This is what really started it all. There is an untracable creator because the people and their bad ideas and the false leaders that they put up to reflect their inadequate values back to them are all just scrambling around for their own personal dramas. This is death of a thousand cuts, 300 Million to be more precise, and when they accept that they have been promoting something that is unsustainable and wrong, then they will be able to fix it. Every time they make something new, but then say that they only care about "character" or "doing the job" they will have an intern that will run a small website who will then enforce stupidity and usher in all of the co-opting friends they can get through the door. When they realize that they have to come to term with who their people actually are, they will be able to play a role in actually building something with integrity. Until then, it will just be more of the same.

2018-03-30 15:35:24 UTC

What do you think about Islam - does Islam promote egalitarianism, and does Islam solve any of the problems

2018-03-30 15:35:33 UTC

No matter how Christian, no matter how philosophical, no matter how smart, no matter how moral, no matter how kind: a liberal and a brown person will never be one of them no matter what they do.

2018-03-30 15:35:41 UTC

Yes, Islam does promote egalitarianism

2018-03-30 15:36:40 UTC

It pushes an over arching set of premises and assumptions that all people are to follow equally. So long as someone is able to make something Haram, it is permissible. See homosexuality and molestation of children as an example. Muslims don't care about gays. They care about the title of gay.

2018-03-30 15:37:13 UTC

A Burka and a submissive facade and a Muslim woman can run the whole god damn lot of them.

2018-03-30 15:37:21 UTC

Aisha comes to mind

2018-03-30 15:37:32 UTC

you mean Halal

2018-03-30 15:37:41 UTC

Yes. Thank you.

2018-03-30 16:33:43 UTC

Jesus gets nailed today. Not in the good way but the power of myths is such that we can change that.

2018-03-30 16:34:19 UTC

Meme Magic can change history.
